Re: My updated rig
I'm running everything at stock speeds so I haven't seen any bottlenecks or performance issues. The board supports memory speeds up to DDR3 2800, and has all the bios options to get there. As far as why I chose this CPU, it came down to budget. The CPU was the last item I bought and and I could affo...

My updated rig
Just completed an update to my 4 year old, Core 2 Duo based rig. It was already very quiet so my main goal was reduced power draw and increased performance. The ASRock board (with it's multitude of features and connectors) and the on-chip graphics allowed me to get rid of all my add-on cards. So far...

Re: Zerotherm ZT-10D
I picked up the Zerotherm. I have a nice stockpile of quiet 120mm fans so I'll try them out to see what kind of results I get.

Zerotherm ZT-10D
I'm in the process of updating my 4 year old system. I have a i5 3570K on order and plan on getting a Thermalright HR-02 Macho to cool it. I ran across a Zerotherm ZT-10D at a local brick & mortar for under $20. Seems like a great deal. Does anyone have any experience with this? I searched SPCR but ...

I'm mostly satisfied with my noise levels. It is fairly inaudible outside of 5 ft. and I've gotten comments on how quiet it is from other people. My CPU fan is by far the loudest thing. But with my Opteron @2.5GHz, 1600 rpm is about as slow as I can run it. I'm planning on moving up to a a new CPU c...

I've been looking at this motherboard also. I bought a Kill-A-Watt and was shocked how much power (103W idle) my current setup uses. For that reason alone I'm going to upgrade over the next couple of months. I'm on my third Abit motherboard and Fan EQ is one of the reasons. It's by far the most pain...

When I first installed it would overheat. (75°c+) after about 25 minutes of gaming. I think many people will tell you 75C is well within operating temps for a video card. I volunteer. Lol, my 7600GT idles ~70c. Last time I checked Nvidia control panel, slowdown threshold was 115c. So, if it is bel...

How did that work out for you? I have a fanless 7600GS and it doesn't look like they make those exhaust-type blowers for it so I was thinking I'd need to do something about it. I have the same video card in my system. When I first installed it would overheat. (75°c+) after about 25 minutes of gami...

I've had my Aria for a couple of years now. My first build was an XP-Mobile based system. With a fanless 9600 and the CPU @2000 MHz my idle/load temps were 45c/65c. At the time I had dreams of running that Mobile @2200 MHz with a midrange video card. Once I saw the temps I was getting I gave up on t...

1024x768 to 1680x1050 equals higher GPU temps?
I recently went from a 6 year old 17" CRT to my first LCD monitor, a 20" widescreen. Much to my suprise, my GPU idle temps went up 5°c. When I play GT2R it actually gets as hot as 92° and I'm getting a lot of artifacts. I'm guessing the increased resolution is the culprit. Could this be the reason...

I just swapped out the SmartPower 450W unit that came with my Sonata II with a new Neo HE 550 (S0609 A4). SLK-900A & Fan Combo
Hi guys this is my first post. I recently changed my HSF from an Artic Cooling Copper Silent TC to an SLK-900A w/Panaflo 80mm "L"(my temps went down 10°c :D) . Are there any 90 or 92mm low RPM fans with RPM sensing that would be as quiet or quieter than the 80mm Panaflo? I would like to use the Fan...
