Re: Decoupling/suspension (NoVibes) vs enclosure (Quiet Driv
Is your problem seek noise or coupled vibration? That will determine the correct solution. Well, according to spcr , my HDD scores a 7 in the vibration department, so I suppose vibration shouldn't be an issue. Seek noise, however, is an issue as this revision lacks AAM. I could hear it seeking even...

Decoupling/suspension (NoVibes) vs enclosure (Quiet Drive)
Hi,
In your opinion, which would be the better choice?
For the record, I'm talking about a 7200rpm HDD.
Thanks.
In your opinion, which would be the better choice?
- Decoupling/suspending the HDD in something like a NoVibes.
- Placing it inside an HDD enclosure, like a Scythe Quiet Drive.
For the record, I'm talking about a 7200rpm HDD.
Thanks.

Do you get it yet? You mean your condescending attitude? Yes, I get it. Any PSU can whine, regardless of whether it is fanless, semi-fanless, fanned. Regardless of brand, manufacturer, etc. Any PSU can whine? Really? You don't say? Thanks for letting me know! I would be lost without you. You're my ...

There's even this topic about whine on a fanless Seasonic PSU.

It really surprises me how people are surprised about this. There's plenty of reports about whine in this forum.

Re: Windows 8.1 Discussion
Calling developers lazy/incompetent is a little rich seeing as how Microsoft were still making major changes to 8.1 less than two weeks before GA. Do you expect developers to be able to totally re-write their code in less than a couple of weeks ? And its not just Nvidia having problems Windows 8.1 ...

Re: Windows 8.1 Discussion
Most of the time it is third party software or drivers that cause the problems, unless Microsoft botch an update. Correct. But doesn't that raise the question of why developers and hardware manufactures are having these problems with Windows 8/8.1 ? Because they're lazy/incompetent. Remember Vista?...

In order to do justice to Seasonic PSUs, I speculate that only their Platinum-rated PSUs have annoying electrical noise problems . That's probably why most people in SPCR are more or less satisfied with Seasonic Gold-rated PSUs where a few unfortunate people like me have been complaining about the ...

I honestly disagree, I think there are plenty of good design by them the TJ08-E, granadia series, the sugo series, FT02, RV03, etc. So I say they are not as good as they once were, and you use examples of past products to try and prove me wrong? And just because something is good, doesn't mean it's...

I've got a U2312HM (Rev. A06) as a replacement for my malfunctioning U2311H. As far as I can tell, it's silent. I'm using it a 7 brightness and haven't heard anything.
Either the A06 revision fixed the issue or it went away (factory menu shows 650 hours of use so mine is a refurb).

Just adjust the fan speed curve so that the GPU temp tops out at ~90c instead of 76c. No need to swap it out. :) Then why would anyone buy this instead of building it themselves? Or do you really think "ordinary" people know how to adjust the fan speed curve of a video card's fan(s)? If they did th...

Think what they could achieve (in low noise), if they started to use third-party video card coolers.

I guess it's bigger than it looks. Nevertheless, huge case is huge! Relatively speaking though. I sure do wish they'd push the envelope more on going small, not big. It's easy to go big. Also, who doesn't want a small case that's more practical, that will house a practical PSU, that can even be TFX...

I'm sure Microsoft will proudly tell the world how many millions of copies it 'sold' of Windows 8 as proof people want Metro, when in fact they were never sold but merely pre-installed on OEM computers where people had no choice in the matter. You know, like what happened with Vista (not to say Vist...
