Hello everyone,
Just received the case today and I ca confirm about the Geforce GTX thing, as there only an inch or so of free space between the hard drive cage and the back end of a GTS.
Quality feels very good, as usual

New Nexus Mini ITX Psile
Hi ! I've just seen that on matbe.com and it looks awesome : 4 mm aluminium panels, customisable painting, mini itx, 3.5" HDD, supplied DVD burner, 150W external fanless brick PSU (not like the one reviewed recently), custom full copper socket 479 heatsink, damptek foam etc... Everything a silent pc...

Hi Hyphe, Nice to see you find a way to cool your card. Going back to the links you provided on 7600GT power consumption, I find data are completely inconsistent : - first anand measured the 7600GT and X1600XT to be on par (+7W for the GT under load) - second xbit measured the X1600XT to draw c28W -...

Hey,
I know there is no problem any more but I'd like to give that link to a tom's article clearly showing how close to 100% full load, bios state is.
For you not to make the same mistake...

To me the 7600GS is not a good deal. You do not get extra 2D features compared to a 6600 but the price is a lot higher, and it consumes more. Maybe it will be useful for things like Vista's Aero interface ? X1600s seems of more value for money. What 2D features are you referring to? Purevideo. And ...

don't know about your thermaltake (unless it is the one that comes with their Silentboost HSF, which is actually a panaflo and therefore not that bad) but i can tell you about sunon : they were the supplier of shuttles' fans, and these fans, even at low speed were rattling. Even that cheap, I don't ...

Hey, You might want to have a look at this french website which has a review and compares 7600Gs to Gt and to 6600 GT. They also measured the power consumption and found a 42 W difference between GT and GS. This is roughly identical to NVidia claims (35W). The GS consumes also like 8W less than a 66...

 If I understood correctly that's the first time you post on SPCR ? Welcome to SPCR ! (and I really mean idle since I didn't install any software yet, just checked temps in the bios) That's a funny one ! Indeed, BIOS is closer to full load than to idle. Install XP and recheck, you'll be a...

:D Hey ! First of all, Hyphe, congratulations for that VERY nice job ! Just a few comments on what you chose though. As already pointed out you'd better have carved the fins vertical instead of horizontal. But now it's done so forget about it. Then, are you using C&Q on your Turion ? And what do you...

New Turion Heatspreader form MSI !
:D Hey ! I wanted to post this a few days ago but didn't have time : according to matbe.com , MSI will soon be selling heatspreaders to allow for using regular K8 S754 HSF on turions ! That solves one problems regarding running turions on desktop system, doesn't it ? No information however on where ...

Hi all ! Does anyone know whether you can actually mount an XP120 on an Asus A8N CSM. Looking on thermalright website, I found it's supposed to be possible on A8N. But i don't know how much space is left when XP120 in place. Can you still put a graphics card after ? (I need the XP120 because of its ...

Just like FraGGleR: if you want HD get yourself a 6600 at least (or one of the new ATI X1000 if you can find one  . I wouldn't bet the fans supplied with the case are quiet. I think compared to the panaflo or the Seasonic they will be like jet turbines. Anyway, a passive, not overclocked 66...

Gigabyte i-Ram 2
Hi there ! Great news today (seen on matbe.com): Gigabyte announces they will release i-Ram 2 in next february ! updated features include: SATA-2, DDR-2, up to 16GB capacity, and 5"1/4 form factor ! Sounds good, eh ? How about booting in 10secs, in a perfect silence ? I do believe that SATA-2 will b...

No that is not fair as noise is related more to airflow than to rpms. Nexus is design to provide good air flow at low speed, therefore, at same speed it pushes more air than the antec. Check out last SPCR articles on HS (vapochill article i'd say) they compared air flow versus speed for different fa...

I think he meant revision number, not firmware version. I.e. "00FLC0" or "00FLA1", Yes exactly that's what I am after ! :D Anyway, that's not a big deal. Just wanted to know if there was any improvement in noise to expect or not. I would bet there isn't, since both drives are equipped with FDB moto...
