Hi,
Just seen this: http://www.akasa.co.uk/spec/coolers/spec_ak_370_oem.htm
And was wondering who has used it/seen a review of it.
Im skeptical from the picture that it could cool my P4 2.54 without any fan...maybe as its made for a server case it needs airflow?
Opinions?

Thanks for the detailed analysis - very appreciated as my drive has just had similar problems...but now doing a backup as we speak thanks to the tapping drive technique. My drive is suspended in the front of my case, no earth wire, using standard IDE cable and it is the only device on the channel. M...

I just got a mac laptop- an ibook g3 500mhz. Its VERY quiet - hd only chugs under disk intensive stuff. 500mhz G3 mac processor (faster than equivilant PC) is fine for web browsing etc. You can easily run mail, internet and m$ word. Airport is apples wireless network and you can get them built in. A...

Looks like il pickup a Samsung SP1614C 160GB - OEM I will suspend it with elastic, and it wont have much airflow, but should survive and be quiter than my solution atm, with better data securoty. I have read mixed results regarding Dtemp readout, but that doesnt really bother me...

Quietest HD - still samsung? Quick questions

Currently i have 2x80 seagate barra IV (with aam ENABLED) running in raid 0 on serial ATA. I want to replace this with a SINGLE drive, probably 160g...

5yr warranty is great except when it breaks, you still loose the data (unless you have other backup methods) and normally in business the value of the data will be much more than the drive. I know a company that use a P3 ~700 as server for 6/7 PC's, including database access and file access and it w...

Cheers guys. The reason i was thinking of using a Durin 750 is that i have one spare, hence no extra cost. Since fanless is probably not an option, i think i may end up using a very low cfm fan - ie panaflow @ 5v? I probably wont buy another cpu unless i use this system extensively. As for the PSU, ...

Zalman may work good if i can fit it in the case. Alphas are pretty expensive :( You think i could maybe use a cheaper coolermaster, http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=48547 , and maybe miss out the fan? Or put a real quiet one on, or d...

Passively cooling Duron 750 - advice needed.
I am going to be building a cheap box to run rh 9 on so i can learn linux. However this needs to be as silent as possible VGA is onboard no problems there. Hd will be in a silentdrive or custom sand box so that should be ok. PSU may be custom passive or may just run a Panaflow at 7v in a spare/cheap...

Hi, I tried this at the weekend. I got a ZM80C-Hp kit - the newer grey one. I installed it as you said, however i was a little worried to see only 2 mounting holes from block to heatsink, but hopefully it will be ok. I installed it on a 64mb Geforce 3, one of the actual reference cards, made by nvid...

Pingu, Do you have a front fan drawing air onto the drives. I was going to suspend them however it not the easiest thing to do in my case, if i want to keep some airflow over them, and not add any fans. I am going to add some horizontal beams when i have some time, and suspend them. OR! Do i sell th...

Hi, This is exactly what i am thinking of doing :) Anyone got any updates on it? I am currently testing various methods with the 120mm fan in my current case, then just hope the PSU won't add much to the temps, as it is blowing out and throught the psu. I am thinking of getting a PC50 and psu with 1...
