The Lian-Li PC9100 does also look good and is low profile, but it is flex atx and use slim CD/DVD.

What is a PVR system? Personal Video Recorder--Stick in a TV tuner card and the PC can work like a Tivo device. I was going to use the ASUS TV Tuner as it comes on a low profile card and also add in an ASUS GF4 MX440 that also comes low profile and with TV-out. bosock http://www.microplex.no/rubweb...

I have a Lian-Li PC9300 USB case which I'm going to put under the TV for home entertainment stuff. Nice case, but not very much space.

I like aluminium cases. The metal is easy to drill through, and it's easy to cut away things you don't like. The Lian-Li cases do mostly get good reviews. I'm making a micro-ATX PC with a Lian-Li PC9300 USB. It's a good looking case, which is important since I'll put it under the TV, but it doesn't ...

Re: Quieting my system on a budget
replace my IDE and floppy cables with rounded versions Or just be neat and tidy like ralf did - check the SPCR case gallery. Don't bother with the rounded cables. If you feel compelled to have them, zip-tie the things into a circle, or double-sided tape them down to the side of your case. They're m...

OK, powergyoza, you're gonna have to bring that thing over here & we can go crazy with measurements for an afternoon... ;) That would be great! It's not very easy to find that information. Some units have information written on the labels (for instance, a 40GB Fujitsu HD label say "Rating 12V 0.4A ...

Looking at the Seasonic Flex PSUs, it looks like the Flex units isn't one standard size? If you look at the microATX units, they have some with 200W (10A at +12V for P4 computers), and they are all the same size. In the breadbox project, Mike Chin used the Seasonic SS-200SFD SFX. What case are you t...

OK, so you need some height... It's hard to get it more than about two meters inside a normal room. And the chimney need to be isolated to prevent heat loss. The PSU should probably be isolated too, to make sure the heat goes through the chimney rather than just going everywhere. Hmmm.... Two meter ...

If I've understood the chimney principle correctly, you need to have colder air at the top than at the bottom for it to give a good draught. The heat from the PSU should be a good start, but I think maybe the difference need to be bigger to get a good enough airflow to cool the PSU. If you build a c...

Fortron 180W MicroATX PSU buzzing
Hi! I'm making a microATX computer, but discovered that the PSU makes a horrible buzzing even with no fan running. The PSU has +12V 10A compared to only +12V 4.5A for the 150W version, so I think it's clear that the 180 W is ment for P4. It also has the extra 12V plug for the motherboard. When plugg...

I've tried liquid paper, and it wasn't a success. Heat from fingers combined with heat from the computer made it feel sticky (yes, it was dry before I turned on computer again) and it smeared a little bit over time. Removed that and went back to paper. There might be differences between different br...

I just came across this keyboard:

Anybody tried it?
www.KustomPCs.co.uk say:
Key travel is quite short (similar feel to a laptop keyboard) but is precise and spacious.
Maybe it's quiet as well?
