Hey Billy,

What else did you have powered up (memory, video, drives, etc) when you measured 34W? Thanks.
BillyBuerger wrote: That with the undervolt got me an idle power of 34W.

I just received my second TM7050-M2 from Newegg today, and it was rev 5.0.

Has anyone bought a rev 5.1 from anywhere yet?

I just received my second TM7050-M2 from Newegg today, and it was rev 5.0, which does not control 3-pin fans.

I'd appreciate a little more info on this if anyone knows.

Does this mean rev 5.1 can control 3-pin fans on all four headers, or just the CPU header?

Any luck with controlling the fan?? I finished installing my TF7050 today. Had access to the calibration wich failed and then nothing No fan control in BIOS No fan control in Speedfan Nicolas No luck. I'm almost ready to give up and just slow down the fan to 5V. Is the fan control option still in t...

Re: Fan Control?

Anyone have success with getting the fan control to work? I've tried 4 different bios versions and I still do not see the options in the bios like the manual shows. The biostar fan control software and speedfan has no effect. I'd like to be able to control my 3 pin Nexus 120mm fan with it. Thanks. ...

TF7050 and SpeedFan

Does SpeedFan work correctly with the TF7050? I cannot get it to display CPU temperature correctly. More importantly, I cannot get it to control fan speed. The fan speed option disappeared from BIOS after I installed SpeedFan! Help. My new build is very LOUD! BTW, I am running 32-bit Vista on Brisba...

worked well

Just did it. HS came off easily, the thermal compound behaving more or less like chewing gum. The residue was scraped off with finger nails and wiped clean with acetone. The compound was eventually replaced with Arctic silver. However, I was disappointed to notice only 1C or so difference. The old A...

zero to R

Most pots (if not all) are adjustable between zero ohms and the stated maximum resistance. So, a 500 ohm pot goes from zero to 500. The minimum voltage on the fan would depend on the maximum resistance of the pot in series. If you are actually building the above circuit, it more-or-less works the sa...

variable?

Does this controller (the simpler one described at heatsink-guide) vary the speed between starting and max, or is it a simple on-off? It wasn't clear to me from the description.

Thanks.

same here

I posted a nearly identical post in the cooling forum. I have taken off the stock fan, built a duct, and am now cooling the CPU with a rear mounted fan blowing out. This really reduced the flow through the Antec power supply, making the system much quieter. Next is to replace all the fans with Panaf...

not quite

TerryW,

Not quite right. The fan draws 68mA at 12V. The pot dissipates far less. The pot at 10ohm, would drop at most 50mW and above 100ohm, would drop at most 200mW. I'll let you know if it doesn't work out.

not sure yet

I see where you are coming from. But an L1A panaflow draws only 68mA. Thus, one would need at most a cheap 1/4 watt potentiometer.

Am I miscalculating? I only ask because I was going to do this, and I would like a sanity check. Thanks.

replacing heatsink

Hello, First post. Brief introduction is in order. I'm an electrical engineer from MN. Computer is an Athlon 1.4GHz, ECS K7S5A, Radeon VE, and the usual, standard stuff. This all started when my sister got a brand new Dell, which was ultra quiet compared to my computer. All of a sudden, the same old...

resistor?

Would a simple potentiometer do the same thing?
