Neil, you're still ignoring the real cause of all our problems.....too many people competing for too few resources (energy and otherwise). The band-aid patches you suggest are a short-term fix.....and will do nothing for the future problems we will face when the world population increases past the d...

Neil...you have yet to address unchecked population growth, which obviously would over-whelm our limited resources, even if we managed to solve our energy crisis. What will happen when we start tripping over each other? Mass starvation, followed by the thing you hate worse....wars. Gore wants to fix...

Neil...it's quite obvious the entire earth will run out of all resources in the future, if population growth continues almost un-checked. Hoping that an increased standard of living will limit growth is a stretch. Hell...a big part of our population won't even use birth control of any sort, due to t...

"The solutions to our problems are all pretty obvious"....... not true at all. China's solution to this problem has been to limit population growth by law. That certainly works. We could implement such programs right here...... mandatory abortion, sterilization, birth control, sex education. All wou...

Neil....explain how you turned a thread about Gore's energy suggestions, into a rant about the current president. FWIW. Check into the Bush ranch in Texas, and it's energy usage. You may be surprised......but probably won't admit it.

Neil....I won't ignore anyone who has political opinions. But when that person advocates a policy (like Gore's green policies), that he, himself can't/won't follow, he deserves to be ignored. You listen to someone's opinions on the subject who wastes energy like mad? I won't. Gore has a heated outdo...

brainykid.......nuclear reactors can be built almost anywhere. They are on ships and submarines, some are on space-craft. Obviously the technical problems can be over-come. But the political problems with the "not-in-my-backyard" people, and the tree-hugger people pose a different problem. But I thi...

It sure is easy to dream up all sorts of ways to store energy, when using an intermittent source for your power. Some ways work well and have been used successfully for years. Batteries are probably the most common, and the most portable......which is a major concern. Just how does Gore and company ...

It's simply a matter of having the political will to change the regulations that keep us energy-starved. And you're now admitting that Gore's 10-year plan...

Neil.....in effect, we have no capital punishment at all in the USA. Last I heard, the odds of a murderer receiving capital punishment are < 1-100. What sort of a deterrent is that? Make the odds 50-50 and watch the murder rate drop...... fat chance of that happening in this bleeding heart country. :x

Neil.... you keep saying "Capital punishment does not deter murders". You should realize that things that don't happen cannot be measured.

And I'll keep saying "swift and certain capital punishment will deter murders". An executed murderer cannot kill again.

Free renewable energy from the sun and wind, etc. But neither is a 24/7 solution, unlike nuclear. I use a car battery to store my little solar energy for use at night. Not the best solution....

I've always assumed the slots on the edges allowed for better passive airflow, as well as for better airflow with a low-speed fan...likewise the large hole through the center.

Frankly I'll be surprised if this Ninja version is better in a very low airflow setup....
