Good decently quiet HSF for Lian-li v880 htpc?
S939 x2 3800+ being utilized... probably no overclocking at all or mild one if I see the need (doubt it). It doesn't have to be absolutely silent but need to be quieter than the stock HSF. Basically there will be some ambient noise coming from the projector while someone is watching enough to drown ...

Well total of 4 people interested in it other than me for this. I am going to have to drop the idea and just grab over priced sorbothane and get on with my life. In my case, it was to tame the 2 waterpump I have which isn't too noisy but need really good isolation to further reduce the sound (MCP600...

Group Buy for sorbothane?
In case you don't know what it is... It is piece of solid sheet or (whatever it is formed) that GREATLY reduces vibration, or considered one of best isolation method short of more exotic method. Many high end audio equipment usually uses this material on various parts as well as electronics used in ...

Yah, I'm back from my vacation. I really should pick my words carefully. It isn't necessarily a really LOUD banging noise. You can hear something tapping against the aluminum interior of the Reserator. It isn't constant. Rather, it's intermittent, you hear it every few seconds or so. *tap......*tap...

Well the only thing that worries me is that my CPU temp is 46 C on IDLE. Haven't tried load yet. Perhaps it's because I'm in super sunny south california, where it's HOT. =[ 46*C is nothing to worry about at all. Start worrying when you hit 48*C + Uhmmm his not using abit like u or I am.... http://www.cluboc.net/reviews/super_cooling/kingwin/arcticliquidcooler/index.htm If they rank it better than the EXOS, it has to be pretty good. I'm only marginally worried about the following: Obviously paid by kingwin. Radiator size always have big impact. Reason why well constructed swift kit st...

IMHO, Peltier = expensive. Unless you want the extreme temperature, waterchilling = waste of time/money/effort. If you are looking for above freezing point temps, stick to direct die peltier setup. Swiftech makes nice blocks for them. I used to churn out 3.7ghz out of old 2.4b c1. Cost of whole setu...

Nice idea.. first time I've seen watercooling applied to the sides of a HDD, strangely enough. It's pretty obvious that the sides are hottar than the top of a HDD, one can only guess why so many people have watercooled the top of their drives instead of the sides :) Innovatek used to (or still do) ...

Cool photos, chylld. I've never seen that done before. From a science/mechanical point of view, that's not a good place and orientation for the radiator, though. If you put the radiator at the top of your cooling loop, especially with the barbs facing downward, then the radiator becomes a trap for ...

To make it external... maximum you can go on tubing through PCI slot is unfortunately. 3/8 OD. Thus the restriction on how you can pass the water through. Inside the case, 1/2 ID will be too big to be user friendly and 3/8id 1/2OD will be maximum that will be usuable. Now to go through PCI with 1/2 ...

Re: Koolance Exos - Silenceable?
After being somewhat disappointed in my Reserator, I have decided to give the Koolance Exos Aluminum a shot. I will be using the V10 CPU waterblock along with the L06 GPU waterblock with an ATI Radeon X800XT. I highly believe that the Exos is a better solution than the Reserator becuase it offers d...

I'm planning on getting ATi's Radeon X800XT-PE from CompUSA on the 27th, when they "say" it's going to be in stores. I was also considering purchasing a Reserator as well as Zalman's water cooling solution for VGA cards, forgot the model number. Do you think I should risk it? Yes? No? Advice? Sugge...

With that in mind, I'd humbly suggest the Antec TruePower/TrueControl 550 which, though not nearly as quiet as the Noisetaker, should be quiet enough for you, especially since you're not running quiet hard drives. Why should I consider the Antec if it's not "nearly as quiet" as the Noisetaker? I ma...
