Re: Suggestions for mid power QUIET gaming PC

Abula - I agree with other, i dont think your card is overheating. But when there is a striking difference between the heatpipes on the CPU cooler and on the GPU cooler, while the reported temps are roughly comparable, then I say that something is a miss. IMHO the MSI GTX 960 GAMING 4G underrate th...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh

So, previously I bought some fan gaskets (black, real f...

Re: Suggestions for mid power QUIET gaming PC

The cooler came in yesterday, haven't mount it yet as I need to prep the mid plate on my 290. Hopefully can put it in by tomorrow night. initial impression I bought the black version, seems like the black is not anodized but some kind of glossy metallic paint. Not sure if it will degrade the performan...

Re: FanXpert2 vs ??

You really want to read the manual for the fan header pin out if you want to control 3 pin dc fan. It seems that they really want to move to all pwm. Some fan software from board manf actually can change setting in the bios. I believe for itx, every manf only put 2 pwm header except for asus. Only a...

Re: Looking for microATX or miniITX quiet case

To be honest, any of the 160mm tower heatsink will let you run passive most of the time for typical computer task (browsing/video/word processing) in a rather open flow case without any case fan , as long as you are comfortable seeing higher temp. If you are sensitive to bearing noise, best is buy f...

Re: Some 120mm Fan Reviews: Vardar, Slip Stream, Gentle Typh

Great stuff, I just start building my first desktop pc and hit the similar delimma. Right now I have some gt1450 dc version, with a weak light weighted case, using steel screw will develop a hum due to vibration at low rpm, I think the hum go away at higher rpm. So I go bought some nylon screw and w...

Re: Suggestions for mid power QUIET gaming PC

Okay, so for more constructive debate - for quiet VGA cooling - anyone know something better that Prolimatech MK-26 cooler? It seems to be recommended by SPCR: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1301-page5.html Looks nice: http://www.prolimatech.com/en/products/detail.asp?id=2484&subid=2595#showt...
