I have a Fujitsu MAN3184MP in my D8000 rig (seen in my signature).
I love it. Very quiet and fast.

Yeah, carlitosz, you should say "Power supply muffler".
An isolator will isolate vibrations from being transfered.
Here is an "attempt" at a power supply isolator:

I looked at all of these cases, and to me, they look like a very "average" case when it comes to noise levels. I'd say over 95% of the cases out there have the same 80mm intakes and exausts. While it's true that you can run quiet 80mm fans, they won't move air like a quiet 120mm fan. I have built hu...

For starters, I feel that this post should have been placed in this forum: Deals, Vendors & Classifieds Got a hot deal to share, info about a vendor, gear to sell, or a question about where to buy? Secondly, alchemist's post was very unprofessional. And when the boss comes online and condones the ac...

Yeah, the D8000, Marcase, Antec SLK37000, are all based on this CompuCase 6A19. Color and front bezels are the only differences. The Acousticase is simply a stock black CompuCase 6A19, with the acoustipack pre-installed. The front bezel has the same air restrictions as the D8000. It will increase yo...

Yes, 4412 FGL is the model I have. I don't have any experience/need for the Zalman fan bracket. As for the front bezel, I'm a big fan of removing a section of the front bezels, but that's your call. Check out my 3 recent cases: http://www.silentpcreview.com/files/images/katana//final2.jpg http://www...

I know the rear is running at 4.9V. I'd guess that the front is probably around 6V. My 3rd 120mm is in the Fortron PSU. Keep in mind, I have no fan grills, case vents are cut out, and no fan filters. The only restiction there is, is the modder's mesh in front. Needless to say, this case breathes easy.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. So, in your setup, i suspect you use a 5V 4412 at the back, and 7V 4412 at the front? Actually, I'm able to adjust it even more with my Zalman fan controller. PS katana Man are they the only fans in your case!? 2 x Papst 4412 and 1 x Papst 92mm (I forget its model...

The one thing to be careful of is the fact that quiet PSU's tend to have low airflow. Therefore you'll want to have positive air pressure. With my D8000 case (same interior as the SLK3700), if I used a 120mmx38mm Panaflo for the exaust, and if I ran it anything over 5V, it slowed the PSU airflow to ...

Do NOT get the APC Smart-UPS 750XL. I just threw down $800 smackers to get 2 of them, and they are not quiet. Makes me mad that APC does not mention the noise levels on their units. They didn't even mention that it has a fan. (Granted the fan only turns on durring power outs). It has a random, on an...

Well, my florescent lights all humm loudly. I tried your technique with holding the lights, and it did not change. I did notice something interesting at Lowes the other day. I saw some florecent lights that were claiming something like 50% (might have even been higher) quieter than other florescent ...

The (PF) version is louder for more reasons than just the ball bearing/sleeve bearing difference. The non-(PF) version doesn't speed up like the (PF) version. I don't know why this the case, but I've heard more and more reports that the PF version runs louder under load. The non (PF) version does no...

The Pabst 4412FGL does not seem to be available from any obvious vendors in the US, unless it has other names. Maybe because you are searching for "Pabst" instead of "Papst". I'm curious, why is it sometimes spelled "Pabst" overseas? That doesn't make sense to me since it's a company name. A compan...
