Not that its not appreciated, but why review/preview such consumer electronics which have no apparent connection with noise

I'm guessing that Samsung asked you to do it and you got several free mp3 players

If you have the p180, then as Mentawl said, you should try using the harddrive cage and clip on a 120 fan so it blows directly onto the cards.
Unless you already have some hard drives in there, that would be the best route.

I would say no. I have the p180B and it doesnt have the extra room behind the mobo.

I would imagine that p182 costs the same, so only neg aspect would be if it came in a color that you didn't like.

Just until someone more knowledgeable in sound characteristics replies, dB and dBa are different things. db is not the same thing as dba. A dba is a measurement to more accurately measure the loudness, db is the log based measurement which isn't what you think. EG 30db is not double the noise of 15d...

Sorry to hear you guys are having problems. I have a Sapphire 4830 with S1 and 120mm fan perpendicular to it. 28/42 on core. The only thing i can come up with is its Powercoolers fault. I'm confused, do you just insert " -advmethods" at the end of the location link
"C:\Documents and Settings\Eugene\Application Data\Folding@home-gpu\" ->
"C:\Documents and Settings\Eugene\Application Data\Folding@home-gpu\-advmethods"

and it gets you the larger WU's?

Are you sure that the source of the noise is the fan? The fanmate is a good solution if it is, but the noise may be coming from the hard drive. My experience with Dell has shown that they often use noisy hard drives.

I agree that its a mem problem. First try the stock cooler to see if you still see the error. A solution is to cut off the memory part of the stock cooler and use that along with the S1.

There is a series of pics somewhere to describe what i said exactly, , but i cant find them now.

Do you have a cheap place to get this kind of foam? I have managed to find some around, but not priced well enough to squash some idle sounds from the fans.

Looks very good.

About the small area around the fan: it might not be a significant difference, but I think that some tape around the edges (just scotch at first to test) might give slightly different results.

It may prove to be ugly and the single degree difference probably won't really matter.

I have the sapphire 4830 and the accelero s1. They fit just fine. Although because the gpu is approximately in the center of the PCB, the cooler really sticks out. Depending on your case, it might not fit. The total length is 10.2 inches.

I just want good colors and picture quality and ease of use (physical buttons).

On my current 19" 4:3 , I go down to 1024x768 on some games. I know that I am missing some action, but I prefer better game experi...
