I haven't cut out the front panel on my case, as has been done by the others. Once the metal fan punch on the chassis is removed, the intake airflow is greatly improved. I'd like to do the cutout on the plastic purely for cosmetics, but I find the cooling to be perfectly adequate in stock form. Doin...

I've got an LX-6A19 which has a wire guard in between the front bezel and the front of the steel chassis. It fit without any problem, there's plenty of room for it. I've cut out the perforated metal in front of the fans on both the front and back, as done by many others. This makes a tremendous diff...

Aren't most boards with onboard graphics are an "either or" situation - either you can use the onboard video OR a card in an AGP slot - not both at the same time? A nice mATX board with onboard video is the Biostar M7NCG-400, which is an nForce 2 board. I can't comment on its underclockablity, thoug...

I'm also the owner of a Compucase A19, and the color is definitely black. It's more like a powdercoat finish than paintlike, so don't expect a glossy "Sonata" type finish! I've done many of the mods Katanaman did to his case, and I think this case is one of the best bargains going! Although I haven'...

The Epox 8RDA/8RDA+ are also nForce boards which do not use the 4-pin 12V connector.

I don't see why not. There's plenty of quiet 80MM's available.

I have a black LX-6A19 which I got from Directron. The case finish is very nice, with the exception of the silver front grille. It's painted silver. I sanded the rough silver paint off of mine, and dyed it black using vinyl dye. If you read the item description on the blue CompUSA case, that's the a...

I just read a review on that unit today. It seems to work very well! On an OC'd AMD system, it took a NB chip from 51C to 37C! The fan is supposed to be much quieter than one would think from looking at the specs. The small sink included in the kit also worked well in cooling the MOSFET chips of the...

NMB Fan Question

Today I received an E-mail with monthly specials at MPJA.com. While checking things out there, I saw a fan which may be interesting. It's a 120MM NMB, model # 4715ML-64W-B47, which apparently has an external thermistor mounted on a 25" lead from the fan body. Specs given were 110CFM/44dB, and it's g...

I cut out the grills on my Compucase LX with a Dremel and a reinforced disc, which took about 5 minutes per grill.
