I know that a lot of people mod their Accelero S1 by cutting fins and moving the heat pipe around but how do you cut the Accelero fins?
I have tin snips but they typically bend what they are cutting a little bit. What do you guys use?

Re: Getting fanned PSU or fanless + fan?
So is the extra price in a fanless PSU the ability to be hot and still perform properly?
If it is then I would just get a fanned PSU. The airflow path for a fanless doesnt seem to be any better... maybe even worse comparing an enclosed fan in a PSU to a fanless with a fan beside it.

Getting fanned PSU or fanless + fan?
I have a P182 and I was planning to take out the fan bracket in the lower chamber to improve airflow (edited: said "noise"...typo). Its rivited in so its not really able to go back in if i take it out. My question is, if i get a psu in the future am I better to go with a quiet fanned PSU or a fanles...

my north bridge (AMD 770) runs hot and the heatsink that came with my board is small. cutting fan grills
i have noticed a lot of the posters around here have the fan grills cut off of their P180's etc.
Is this really that helpful? the fan grills seem so sparse I didnt think it would help. but I see it a lot.

does Accelero S1 need own fan or is intake fan enough?
Hi there I am planning to put an accelero S1 on my video card. From the S1 review i understand that they dont need much airflow to operate properly, so I am wondering if I need to put a fan directly on my S1 or if an intake fan will be ok? I have a P182 and I plan to put a baffle the GPU away from t...

2 fans at different CFM?
If I had one fan pushin 20 CFM and another pushing say 30 CFM and they were baffled in line with eachother (so no other air could get through) how many CFM would be pushed?
Would the fan pressure be increased?

How to best cool computer?
Hi there, I am wondering how to best cool my computer quietly. I have a P182, ATI 5770 graphics card, and ATI X3 440 CPU in the upper chamber of the P182. I like fairly high performance computing and I was looking at the P180 Whole nine yards. It seems to me that having good CPU heatsink with 2 fans...

Hi there I wanted to use an SLI system with each card having an accelero S1 with 2 nexus fans. but that takes up 3 pci slots!! I know that many people use PS3s for a home media station but are they nearly as good as quiet computers? Are they quiet by your standards? Scythe Slip stream on 2 pin connector
The scythe slip stream line states that it is "Silent to Power User Ready".
I assume this means that there is a switch on the fan to change the speed? Would this fan and feature still work properly if i use it in a power supply on the PSU's 2 pin connector?

Antec NeoHE 500W vs NZXT Pwerformance Power 800W
Hi I was wondering which of these two PSUs would be quieter. I know the Antec NeoHE was good for its time but i think it came out 4 years ago. I hear the NZXT is quite good and quiet but I havent seen it reviewed here. The NZXT is newer and possibly quieter just because of that.
