Wow, I can't believe people are still buying these. They're bad power supplies, end of story. It's not just the Asus MB's they have problems with, either, so let's stop propogating that nonsense. I don't know why people keep bothering with Antec to try to get it working unless you can't get your mo...

I'd avoid a chipset block and use a heatpipe based cooler instead. chipset water blocks tend to be more restrictive in the loop in low flow systems (which yours will likely be if you undervolt your pump to keep it quiet). Also, try to avoid using 90 degree elbows. They too restrict the flow and red...

Things that attracted me to this Kit: 1. Cheap- only $251 shipped with CPU, GPU, chipset cooling 2. Good reviews on the CPU Block 3. Eheim pump 4. Less tubing mess with integrated reservoir 5. High-flow, low impedance radiator design 6. Everything is included (clamps, tubes, etc.) Things I do not li...

Talk Me Out Of It
This is the one.
The kit that finally has convinced me to stop struggling with air and give in to the "dark side" of watercooling.
I have big plans this spring for a truly mega-quiet PC, and this will be an integral part.
So, talk me out of it.

Re: Slim PCI-E mostly silent card ?
Hello, I just got a shuttle (st20g5) and the pci-e slot is sandwiched between the pci slot (which I'd like to use, so a passive card is not possible) and the side of the case (which I don't want to cut, so a vf700 or silencer is not possible either). Any recommendation for an ati x800 card which is...

So I ordered one and it came yesterday. I was pretty underwhelmed with the details, but I still like the overall idea of cool and exhaust out of the case. What bugs me is the extensive use of white thermal pads-- I didn't actually want to take my Zalman off, since that would mean $10 for more of th...

warriorpoet - Your suggestions could clearly put together a very nice system. You obviously have the ABit AN8 Ultra motherboard. Do you also have the P150 and if so, do they play nicely together? The P150 looks like a very nice case, and on paper, the NeoHE is a good power supply, but there are obv...

The SI-120 works very well in the SLK3000B; you just need to trim the CAG if you want to use it. I've noted better temperature results all around in my SLK with the TAC duct removed due to improved airflow. Also, keep in mind that the chipset radiators require some airflow, the SI/XP-120 blow cool a...

NOPE! opteron dual cores cost LESS than x2. they also have a better built memory controller many tech report places say. amd is squashing them asap however if you read on the theregister.com they just are way too good. Opterons cost more per MHz i.e. x2 3800+ @ 2.0GHz is $322; opteron 170 @ 2.0GHz ...

Can't you use the NiBiTor(sp?) BIOS editor to change the fan speed settings in the BIOS on nVidia cards ? Haven't tried this myself, but if you change them in the bios they would apply without any form of software/driver communication. Ofcourse as always when modding BIOS's with third party tools.....

Supposedly the Opterons undergo a more strenuous verification process since they are designed to be used in 24/7 servers. Some have therefore suggested that the Opterons may have more overclocking headroom. Otherwise they are exactly the same - same core, same revision, everything. Not entirely tru...

I have a PCI card two slots down in my machine. It's a tight fit, but can be done. I'd plug the thing in to your card's fan header and set up RivaTuner to control fan speed unless your feeling frisky and are willing to do a little BIOS revision, then use NiBiTor. More info is located in the User Rev...
