llano should undervolt well, the biggest savings would be under load but every little bit helps.
easiest way i think is fusiontweaker, i used the other version on my brazos laptop and it worked well.

Re: has anyone here used a pico-box(chinese picopsu) psu?
thanks for replying, my z3-atx came last night! some thoughts: it is quite a bit larger than my picopsu-80 voltages hold steady according to the mb readouts efficiency paired with a level v brick is almost exactly the same as my picopsu-80 and non rated delta brick it has an annoying bright blue led...

thanks for the info jamese. i ask because my pisopsu-80 gives me grief if i start pulling ~70w from the wall on my system, could be the pico or the brick though. xan_user, can't you rotate the heat sink 90 degrees so the fins face the right direction? the difference should be significant, even if yo...

Re: Lone Industries Mini-ITX prototype
if you don't mind having 4 funny nubs at the top you can always flip the case over. as long as you're not using a card then it should work okay, proximity to the fans depends on your mb and heatsink so it could end up better or worse (in any case it's tiny and there's only one exit for the air so th...

availabe products , also on ebay etc. some info from someone who has used one . -this user had troubles with interference and voltages from his picopsu-150xt (faulty?) -the pico-box z2-atx worked but wouldn't wake from sleep (seems to be an old model) -the pico-box x1 works fine i'm considering get...

the a10 requires a new socket so your old mb won't work, you're stuck with the phenom if you want to upgrade the cpu only. a good cooler is pretty much necessary if you want it to be quiet.

Re: A10-5800K undervolting
i didn't undervolt during the 2.8ghz tests. turbocore was off the whole time. the gpu voltage is adjusted automatically and as far as i can tell, is unrelated to the nb voltage the reason the idle for the undervolted 3.6ghz results are high is because the freq was locked at 3.6ghz for the whole test...

it would be a single thread inside the general gallery forum.
pretty much for people who want to show off their rigs but don't really want to do a write up, each post can/would be like an equivalent to a cut down thread you would usually find in the general gallery.
more pics less text!

i've used an air blower pump thingy before (the ones for cameras) and they work well enough.
they're super weak, but beat trying to blow out the dust yourself, the tip also goes right into psu vents!

Re: New PC for my father
if the 5670 is overkill for the games he's playing i would seriously consider dumping it simply to reduce power consumption. if you want better than the lowest rung igp, then grab an i3-3225 for the hd4000 or go with an amd trinity. if you want to keep the old gpu then i completely agree with kuzzia...

Re: i think i broke a fan header... maybe more?
yeah just plugging/unplugging a fan... i think you may be right. it turns out i didn't lose rpm readings, just that the fan lost them, which lines up with the theory of blowing the pwm part of the header by inserting the fan incorrectly. i'm just using the sys fan header now and i had to switch the ...

i think i broke a fan header... maybe more?
i was messing with my cpu fan last night (i think i may have plugged it in wrong partially) and suddenly i saw two tiny puffs of smoke directly above the header... and immediately my fan went up to full speed! i tried speedfan to slow it back down which didn't work, but moving to the sys fan header ...

thanks for the code tip! the nb voltage is adjustable but it seems it isn't linked to the gpu. i did notice the gpu voltage changing though and after checking it i found it to have 3 power states: 304mhz@0.912v, 608mhz@1.199v and 760mhz@1.274v. from the numbers i could tell that the gpu uses a signi...

Re: Picking a FM2 matx mobo
i'm very interersted in this since i'm in the same position. for fan control i think it's easier to rely on software, most of the time the options within the bios are too limiting, if you're using windows then the spcr reviews already point to good speedfan support. if you don't like the idea of run...

Re: Gigabyte GA-F2A75M-D3H Budget FM2 Motherboard
nice idle numbers indeed!
can someone confirm no bios undervolting, maybe a newer bios might reintroduce it?
do all gigabyte fm2 mobos lack it?
it seems like a very odd functionality to remove, it might even be deal killer for me at least until it's easily doable in windows.

^ around 2 watts less or so.
kind of disappointing numbers really, though i guess i was being overly optimistic about what the 65w tdp meant.
thanks for another trinity review!
now how about sharing the voltage numbers or doing some undervolting

Re: HTPC spec - A6-5400k or i3-3220?
intel easily wins if you don't need the amd gpu and for some reason the system works out to be similar in price. perhaps even consider a sandy bridge celeron, they're not much slower than an i3 in most tasks and are even cheaper. the only other possible problem is the infamous 24p playback thing, th...

Re: HTPC spec - A6-5400k or i3-3220?
you want at least the a6-5400k or i3-3225 with hd4000 for emulation with dolphin or pcsx2, for older games though it won't matter.
the a6 may require overclocking for decent emulation performance.
the intel hd4000 is a bit hit and miss in terms of emulation performance.

Re: 65W TDP A10-5700 review
i wish they would've posted some cpuz screens or at least commented on the voltages, i have a feeling that simply undervolting an a10-5800k won't bring it down to similar power levels. if it was that easy you would assume amd would have more stock, especially since they sell for the same price. i'm ...

measurements are what the motherboard spits out, i have no equipment that could measure it otherwise.
i'm not fussed at all about stability, its fine when restricted to 2.1ghz.
