my Athlon is brown, I'll check the sticker tonight. It's a shame I have to remove the HS, I just installed it last week (CNPS 7000AlCu)

There's nothing written on the core directly, maybe I wiped it while cleaning Arctic silver. Could this information be found elsewhere ?

Great advice ! I'll never buy a CPU on eBay again but do you think AMD will RMA it ? I don't see any tempering on the CPU.

I won't upgrade until a few months and I don't want any heat problems un the summer. I want to get a better heatsink for my XP 3000+ cause I think 55c is a bit high. no ?

I recently tried the Coolermaster TLF-S12 . It's almost silent at 12v 1200 RPM. When feeded with 7v, I can't hear it. I don't have the RPM at 7v sorry mate, i've got one of these fans, they're pure crap... they tend to buzz quite a lot at 1,200 rpm and click as you go down to 5V. not too noisy thow...
