performance-pcs has a bunch of 60mm fans... you might look at the scythe or noiseblocker.

i guess if the specs on that vantec are honest it'll work though.

i dont feel like breaking out paint, but imagine if you will: the antec nsk3480. psu up top, a couple of bays up there as well... the main compartment has 2 92 mm fans... essentially, make it bigger. tall enough that the main compartment can handle 2 180mm fans, or 2 140mm fans... or 3 120mm fans......

Fumino, the reviews I've read of the Sonata Proto seem to indicate poor cooling performance in that it only has room for a single case fan i've noticed that as well, seems many reviewers dont read where antec tells them there is a second mount for a fan on the hard drive bay area... just looking in...

artic silver 5 is over rated anyways, but yes the mugen comes with TIM. i would spring for the 1600mhz CAS7 g skill eco kit, lower latencies are generally thought to be a greater benefit to amd chips than straight out speed. as for the cpu, the athlon's lack of a level 3 cache hurts its performance ...

different motor designs aren't directly comparable based on a single metric like that.

just look at two 7-blade 120x25mm fans, the Nexus 120 and the San Ace 9G1212H4011:

nexus: .30A; 22.8dB
San Ace: .31A; 40dB

unless you had amperage confused with amplifier...idk.

shoggy sandwich!

sponges have quieted water cooling pumps for years now. for hdd's though, it would seem that the insulating effects would not be ideal when compared to something like suspension. certainly though, if it is effective at damping the vibrations, its worth a few degrees in my book.

looks good from here. psu should be more than enough, and the heatsink will fit.

as for the raid... no luck there really. you'd probably have to get a new motherboard or a raid card.

good luck :3

while i might suggest an atom 330/ion board, it seems you want off the atom train... there are the mini-itx 1156 boards , which paired with an i3 would give very good video performance for the dollar and wattage. you'd want to keep asking to see if the 90w picopsu is enough though, i wouldnt know. f...

indeed, i've never seen one either. if its got two, though, you could get a 3-in-2 module. lian li makes a few, which would look very nice in an htpc environment.

it might add to the costs, but if you find a cheap mini-itx board with a pci-e slot, you can add a raid card to make up for a lack of ports. finding one that supports staggered spin up would also eliminate the need for a bigger psu to cope with the surge. as for the case, i would probably give the e...

the massive fans in the bottom of the ft02 should be able to move enough air to cool your cpu's without a fan on the heatsink... especially since its only a 95w chip, i've seen the i7-920 cooled semi passively with a nh-d14 like that before... temps were great. i'd recommend the thermalright hr-01 o...
