Anyone compared to these to a good 120mm? They look like bigger slipstreams, are they next quiet cooling cfm/dba kings?
Thats a lot of fan to push around quietly and evenly with no bearing noise Id imagine.

Undervolting CPU bad for anything?
I dont know anything about basic electronics, is undervolting a CPU (specifically a Core2Duo) bad for anything such as the PSU, or indeed bad for the CPU itself? My guess is that the less voltage the better if CPU passes stability tests, but then its making it work harder on less voltage.... My E660...

The ninja rev b passively cools my E6600, unless its a hot day i dont see temps above 54c, and i do alot of video encoding. I did have a 800rpm s-flex fan on there, but after i took it off max temps only rose 2c, so i guess my case airflow is doing most of the work anyway. Farting whats your case, ...

Thanks for opinions, when I meant northbridge HS clearance, I meant Im after something narrower than the TRUE so I can fit a Thermalright HR-05 (or whatever) on the NB. It looks like a Ninja is a fair bit narrower and may fit it, the Xigmatek and HR-01 arent significantly narrower than the TRUE iirc...

I didnt search hard enough, seems the Rev.B is inferior even with a bolt-thru kit.

TRUE vs bolt-thru Ninja rev.B
Anyone firsthand compared the Ultra-Extreme vs Ninja rev.B (with thermalright bolt-thru kit)? Because the official SPCR review only feature the Ninja rev.A and the Copper Ninja (with intel push pins). Just wondering which is best passive or at 5v. My current setup is SLK3000B (grills and filters rem...

Test Method: Vertical Open-Bench vs Horizontal In-Case
I noticed some site (www.benchmarkreviews.com) tested a Xigmatek 1283 or 1284 HSF against a TRUE and others in both open-bench and installed horizontally in a case. The in-case review favoured the Xigmatek and from memory they thought it was down to the heatpipes (and fluid within) being horizontal ...

In terms of Accelero S1 vs HR-03 I think it depends on your cooling configuration. The S1 on my 9600GT is cooled perfectly by the 120mm intake but the HR-03GT may work best next to a CPU cooling tower (Ninja etc) where the 120mm CPU fan can service both heatsinks Also the Accelero S1 is quite long (...

My 2c is that I tested both the SLK3000B (BQE but with HD cage the right way around) and Solo against each other, in a warm room with an overclocked CPU and a Geforce 7950GT (Zalman vf700 cooler on low). Used an Antec NeoHe 430w which is very quiet but pathetic airflow compared to something even lik...

Well all I can add is that by using the telescopic side duct in my SLK3000B (among other cases) + 5v stock intel hsf that my CPU temp dropped up to about 5C and case temps were only about 1-2C higher (due to obstruction) If you used a big copper top mounting fan hsf like the old Thermalrights it mig...

Re: Thermalright Ultima-90
I like how its low profile and weighs less. The airflow produced by the top 28mm of the fan causes noise but doesn't help the cooling - so the cooling/noise ratio suffers. If you have that much room, why not use a tower heatsink designed up-front for a 120mm fan? Thermalright makes a couple of them...

Thermalright Ultima-90
Has anyone compared this with a low speed (maybe 1000 rpm) fan? The Anandtech review had it beating nearly everything except its big brother the Ultra-120extreme, IIRC they used a higher speed fan though which suits Thermalrights denser fins better. It killed the Ninja and equalled the Ultra-120 (no...

Intel stock HSF: Nidec vs Fujikura fan?
I have the Fujikura 0.6amp fan with my E6300 stock cooler and find even at about 1000rpm its pretty uneven in tone and just noticeable, its really pretty rough compared to any other HSF Ive used but may just be the one sample Ive used. My mistake, soz. They arent exactly hot, they are wide open to the 120mm intake (when I use it) just that I figured foam would trap heat or at least stop the HD cage exhausting some it in summer temps when things do get toasty without an intake fan. I mean sleeping bags and stuff have foam in them! ...

IIRC the 3800 has the sideways HD cage so thats another point where it differs, Mike C found the 3000B cage was a bit cooler. For the NB cooler you can go cheaper by getting a Zalman NBJ47, but its a tall passive heatsink that usually is in the way of vidcard, whereas the Thermalright one has fan ca...

Cool, Ill do that. I actually prefer my 3000B to the P150, its a bit roomier to work in, it looks pretty good and im not terrified of scratching it like the glossy P150. The P150 HD bays are great though, pull out the ones you dont need for great airflow and they absorb vibration wondefully. If it w...

Fan Noise: VF700 vs VF900?
I have a Vf700alcu and was wondering if the VF900 had the same fan and RPM, it looks like it from the Zalman site but confirmation would be good. Im not happy with the vf700 fan even on low but was eyeing the vf900 as I upgrade to a hotter card. I know the HR-03 is better but I cannot buy them here....
