That's a really nice case. Nice build! If I ever need a mid-tower again, this will be the case for me. I like this case fo all the same reasons you mentioned against the Solo and 182. I personally cannot use another PC with a door. :) http://www.lancoolpc.com/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=1&cl_i...

my townhouse doesn't have Cat5 outlets in the closet either, nor do I want to snake cabling around. Hence, the need for a quiet NAS.

So why is finding a quiet one not an issue?

What is the name of this forum anyways?

The forum demands PICS!

I've been searching for a quiet NAS as well for quite some time now.

If some of these devices could just use rubber grommets and an 80mm fan, I think there would be many more options for a quiet NAS.

I wonder how significant the changes are? We know there was no 32nm die shrink or anything, so it would imply they are just running them at lower voltage, which is what many SPCR enthusiasts do with their chips already. I guess once they're out we'll know exactly what voltage is spec'd and if that'...

Its temperorily out of stock, but they should have another batch soon.

I'll be upgrading my TiVo HD with it.

I'll report on my findings this weekend.

It looks like you're leaning towards the Antec. You could easily put 1 peice of cheap sound dampening material on that panel and be done with your worries. Seriously though, you should give the Chenbro SR11169 a quick view. OR the SR20169 which is $57 at Provantage http://usa.chenbro.com/assets/2007...

Yes. All those parts/plans should work OK. I think its a little ambitous to go fanless on the 4850 though. Try the AC fan you have now, if still too noisy, the Sycthe Slipstream or S-Flex fans are great options. Though I can't imagine either would be significantly better than the AC. Not sure how we...
