Here's a GeForce FX 5200 with 64MB of DDR memory for $76, and that includes 2nd day air. Gainward is one of a few companies offering fanless 5200's, so far most are not. If you want you can get a GeForce 4 MX 440 for forty some bucks, but the card above is way faster, and that maybe useful in displa...

The SLK-800 cools a little better, I assume because of it's increased fin area.
Certainly not weight, they are within 20 grams of each other. I decided to spring for it, the bottom looks like it's finished better as well.

Here are the mid tower cases I've found
Why no full towers?

Katana Man, the wire mess on the front of your case looks pro.

OK next question, why the SLK-800 over the SK-7?
They both hold 80mm fans.

I believe you're looking for modder's mesh. You can get it here:
It's steel, the honeycomb stuff looks cooler and easier to work with.

This case is so cool (I mean looks, right?)

I'm really anxious to find out how the AX-7 heatsink performs in sucking mode.
I was wondering what you were going to use for a heat sink. Good choice.

Ralf, the SLK-800 has a narrow base. Is the base of the hs narrower than the heat spreader of the PIII-S?

Who else would think up a question like this?
Thanks again

Does anybody actually own one of these things yet? It's important to note that several models of the 5200 actually have fans, you need to choose carefully. Newegg notes that pics are for display purposes, so you need to call and check. Googlegear routinely posts MX440 card photos which show fans, bu...

There is no fan like no fan

I believe this is not the unit recommended here. This unit features a massive exterior heatsink. NOTE - The continuous power output ratings, the current at 3.3V.

Ok, so the last post was 4 months ago, I'm slow. I have a Soyo SY-TISU motherboard, which I am using with a PIII-S 1.26 Ghz chip. I saw this board spedc'd to run King Tut processors up to 1.2MHz, does it actually recognize faster processors? I suspect the 1.4MHz King Tut was not out when they made t...

I would much rather have an extremely high ceiling of air movement to work with than be restricted because the part I bought just wasn't enough.
What you also be doing is locking into a fan that's too noisy even when you undervoltage the thing. Who needs that? 36dBA quiet, I dunno....
