 I doubt that Zalman has created a much quieter fan. I'm just hoping this is a nice compromise solution w/ the fan on low. Usually Zalman cooler fans on low don't bother most people--same w/ Antec Tri-Cools. I'm just hoping for that or to replace or supplement the fan on low somehow. Using 4-5 ...

Falcon: you may be right but not quite sure how you draw your conclusions from this review: "The VF1000 LED is inaudible at this setting which is more than I can say about the stock cooler...This is one of the quietest VGA card coolers capable of cooling 8800-series cards. At low the fan is almost i...

I believe that the quietest actively cooled 8600GT right now is this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814143114 It is new on the market, but it will not ramp up needlessly and will be reasonably quiet and cool at idle. Worth a look.

I'm probably the guy that was going to use 2 corsair PSUs in a Mountain Mods case. I scrapped that build and went smaller. There are a number of variants that will lead to your choice of optimal fans, so I don't think there is a blanket answer to your question. I've seen people use the Noctua 1200s ...

Moogles: Lian Li PC-V 350 is 14.6"D x 10.9"W x 10.3"H Qmicra v2 is 14.4"D x 11.6"W x 11" H Size estimate for mini-P182: 18.5"D x 8.1"W x 17"H I would place the mini-P182 in a different size category than the matx cases the OP is considering. Moogles: Nice post. It's always a pleasure to look at a Soldam. From what I've read on other forums, there is a fair amount of anticipation around the LL PC-V350. It's a nice size and the layout looks pretty good. But I agree with you about thin panels and returned an LL case for that very reason. T...

I think that the Gigabyte 8600GT Silent comes boxed w/ Supreme Commander and will probably perform well on a 17" screen.
