I don't know where u live bobash but if u really want u could build a temperature controlling unit for your fans (I'm in Australia and summers coming so probably won't be much use for me) :) http://www.heatsink-guide.com/tempcontrol.htm this site shows u how to build a simple temperature controll an...

with the SLK-800 being able to accept both types of fans I'd think this is for the ppl who'd prefer the whine of something like a 60MM delta over the 80MM delta, as the "dead spot" in the middle of the 60MM delta is smaller and also the fan spins faster so means more air pressure into the heatsink, ...

good luck with it dogbox, I managed to dig up a quiet 60MM fan at my computer swap meet a ADDA AD0612LS-C70GL 21dBA fan pretty good for like 3 bucks, just check the ratings on the fan stickers this one is rated at .08A at 12V if the rating is below about 0.12A (as MikeC said) and the bearings are no...

what PSU u got Reddawn?, I found that it took AGES for me to find the specs of my AOpen PSU on their website had to dig through some .DOC file that had the specs onto it. I found that the easiest way to get the spec for it is to pull the fan out and have a look at the sticker and then stick into goo...

http://www.directron.com/12to7.html Directon sell the adapater pre made but the easiest way I've found to make a 7V adapter is to get a molex double adapter and snip the black wires off one of the plugs and wire that one for 7V and the leave the other one still wired so u get a kinda pass through 7...

with that 60MM Swifty heatsink though the tight pin configuration would mean that u'll probably need a decent fan with some decent backpressure (ie decent RPMs) to push the air down to the bottom of the pins, I don't think a fan like the Panaflow L1A would push enuff air at enuff pressure to get it ...

hmmm I'd be guesing the SLK-800 has a larger surface area but surface area isn't the be all and end all, u also have to consider how much air gets to the actual fins and the area. I did find the dimensions on it though :) Dimension: L87 x W56.4 x H48 (mm) - Top, without fan L57.5 x W56.4 x H48 (mm) ...

hmm so u're relying totally on your PSU fan for your case ventilation? I had that problem with my AOpen PSU, I ripped out the loud stock fan and stuck a Panaflow L1A onto it, but the computer would randomly reboot at intervals :( so I had to move up to a M1A. If u're getting a quiet PSU like the Zal...

ummmmm u're getting to the point where u're getting diminishing returns, u could try undervolting some of the case fans or turn them off altogether, u could replace the Zalman fan for something more quiet like a 80MM panaflow or Papst fan, oh and what's your GPU heatsink like? The Geforce 3 Ti 200 u...
