with the SLK-800 being able to accept both types of fans I'd think this is for the ppl who'd prefer the whine of something like a 60MM delta over the 80MM delta, as the "dead spot" in the middle of the 60MM delta is smaller and also the fan spins faster so means more air pressure into the heatsink, ...

Yate Loon rusty? I had a pyrotenic (or something sounding like that) fan on my AOpen try getting the PSU model number directly off the PSU u may have to take it out of the case to have a look at the sides as the stickers are usually covered by the case.

I've noticed that a lot of the frosty tech noise samples sound like the mic is getting wind noise though, but it is a good guide with the waveform display of the output, like the waveforms of the verax fans.

what PSU u got Reddawn?, I found that it took AGES for me to find the specs of my AOpen PSU on their website had to dig through some .DOC file that had the specs onto it. http://www.directron.com/12to7.html Directon sell the adapater pre made but the easiest way I've found to make a 7V adapter is to get a molex double adapter and snip the black wires off one of the plugs and wire that one for 7V and the leave the other one still wired so u get a kinda pass through 7...

I've found it easier to just cut the wires on the end of the molex plugs and fiddling round with them, I've tried the method that TerryW said as well with the pilers that works pretty well as well... good luck :)

with that 60MM Swifty heatsink though the tight pin configuration would mean that u'll probably need a decent fan with some decent backpressure (ie decent RPMs) to push the air down to the bottom of the pins, I don't think a fan like the Panaflow L1A would push enuff air at enuff pressure to get it ...

hmmm I'd be guesing the SLK-800 has a larger surface area but surface area isn't the be all and end all, u also have to consider how much air gets to the actual fins and the area. I did find the dimensions on it though :) Dimension: L87 x W56.4 x H48 (mm) - Top, without fan L57.5 x W56.4 x H48 (mm) ...

hmm so u're relying totally on your PSU fan for your case ventilation? I had that problem with my AOpen PSU, I ripped out the loud stock fan and stuck a Panaflow L1A onto it, but the computer would randomly reboot at intervals :( so I had to move up to a M1A. If u're getting a quiet PSU like the Zal...

Hmmm true ausone but the 92MM fan has more airflow for the size, probably the best way is to block the intake on the front of the power supply and run the 92MM fan and that will also help general case ventilation as well. :) that's my ideas though :)

A Panaflo makes an annoying noise from motor friction if it is 5-volted.
errr okay I had one of those noises from a ball Bearing panaflow but I've 5V the FBA Hydrowave ones and it doesn't seem to make any noise though *shrugs* :?

Yup that's the 92MM Panaflow that u want :), I know the specs say they're a bit loud but u'll be undervolting it anyway, or u could try some papst fans but I don't know anything about them I stick to the good ole panaflows :)
