Q's about 4770 and 4670

Which card uses more power? Which card runs hotter? I'm thinking of upgrading from my 4670 to a 4770 and putting my 4670's passive heatsink on it, but I don't know if the 4770 puts out too much heat for it to handle. Also, I'm curious (since the 4770 has the PCI Express power connector) if the 4770 ...

I bet most companies are like that, I mean how would they know that you took off your old heatsink and put a new one on? As long as you put your old one back on I think you'd be fine.

I have a Sapphire 4670, it has a built on passive heatsink, so I don't have an accelero. And you really can't run this thing completely passive unless you are fine with like really high temps like 60-70c+ at idle. Gaming it goes up. With an accelero it probably would be cooler temps...but without so...

OK, so my PCI Express 16x 1.0 slot isn't hindering my performance? That's good to know. I've been considering upgrading to a 4770...but what about a faster CPU/motherboard/RAM combo? My friend has a 4650 but a much faster HP system and his framerates are much higher than mine...so I think some of th...

Next upgrade to my system?

4850e 4GB G.Skill DDR2 800 RAM Sapphire fanless Radeon 4670 and this motherboard http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/content.php?S_ID=370 WoW is the only game I play, and it runs at 30fps. But here's the funny thing, 90% of the time it runs at exactly 30.0fps...I think it's because of my slow PC...

Looks good, it'll at least be better than the heatsink I have now, but what about the white stuff on the bottom? Is that a thermal pad or something? I would want to clean that off and use my own paste...anyone have experiences with this heatsink?

I'm concerned about how close the northbridge is to the RAM slots. I'm thinking that the thermalright might get in the way of one (or both) of my RAM sticks...I don't want to run at 2GB or 0GB of RAM...I like my 4GB set up I have right now...I don't want to have to change that... I have no clue if it works with vista...you can try running it as administrator or something, also wxripper has the same features in it but it has more like game ripping features, so try wxripper too.

There actually is a program that can do exactly what you want, stop and start your disc drive from spinning on command. It was intended for video game backing up (not going to get into it now long explanation of why it is needed and crap) but it's called wxStop and it is on gael360.free.fr check it ...

You got that right, working with heatsinks, taking them on and off is a pain, but looking at the program (SpeedFan for me) and seeing those lower temps (even if it is by just 1 degrees) just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. (Funny, because the feeling inside of your is the inverse temperatu...

The difference between the 4850e and the 5050e is .1ghz IIRC. They are both 45W CPUs. I doubt you would see a difference in performance or heat between the two...I could be wrong though.
