I have a ViewSonic NX2232w, 22" 1680 x 1050, it's both monitor and TV. It's supposed to be the fastest display out there, though not as refined as my VP181 monitor. The base is wobbly and has no tilt adjustment, but I replaced it with the stand from a broken ViewSonic VP2030b, so now it rocks. I thi...

Thanks. The ECS looks easier to clean. Dust bunnies would be hard to get out of the Asus card.

From what I've read on many review sites, I have the impression that the build quality of Silverstone cases is first rate, as good as Lian-Li and Coolermaster. Do you think you got a "Friday afternoon" case or is the TJ08 for some reason not up to the same standard as the rest of Silverstones range...

Beautiful. I love how you thought of everything and described it in such detail. Great you've been able to cram a 125W CPU and a discrete GPU in there. Love the two 2.5" hard drives as well (what do you use to clone them, just out of interest?). Why two DVD burners? :) An awesome build. -- lowpower...

I've not actually seen the TJ08 in person but have always been fond of it since I "discovered" it a few months ago. Some questions if you have time - With the modular power supply prot...

If your CPU header is PWM and you're overclocking to 3.6GHz only occasionally, you can also try Arctic Cooling AF12025, more headroom at 1500 rpm. I tried them in in my build here:

Those Kingwin drive holder things are quite handy. I have my SCSI drive mounted at the bottom of my case with Mitron Silicon HDD Vibration Dampeners held in those Kingwin things. josephclemente -- I agree, the TJ08's panels are thinner than a tin can and fit very poorly. Most of the rivets are improperly applied, whoever built it was unskilled or didn't have the right equipment. I doubt that this manufacturer has ISO 9001 quality certification. The case itself is crooked, it...

Silverstone TJ08, passive cooling with a 125W CPU

Built this a few months ago. Not a floor computer, definitely a desktop machine. Will post more pics as soon as I figure out how to post links reliably. Yeah, aluminum is "sticky", sliding parts stick together whereas steel slides. After assembly, there was a fine aluminum dust at the bottom of my case. I was tempted to blow it out with compressed air, but I didn't cos it could short the mobo.

Nice, a work of art.

From my A17 I noticed that under normal use aluminum-to-aluminum friction creates metal fines that can end up on the mobo! Especially from the removable mobo tray, drive bays, side covers, etc. Do you think that's a potential problem?

There's no mistaking if C&Q works, CPU temp & frequency shows a big drop at idle. AMD utility is low-level and proprietary so I doubt anything else will work as well.

I love the Lancool K7, I agree about the PSU cage, I think they're using it as a brace to lend strength to the case, instead of a full-length horizontal bar. Otherwise it's very similar to my A17, and I think you have room to route PSU cables behind the mobo tray.

a couple more pics, Lian-Li is putting top fans on several models these days. I didn't notice any real difference in noise between soft & hard mount. I'm using the Noctua ULNA (ultra low noise adaptor) that comes with NF-S12. I may just run it at 12v. PC gets moved around and back exhaust fan can get blocked in some locatio...

I've been in an anechoic chamber, it's so quiet that your own heartbeat sounds loud, you can even hear your blood pumping through your arteries, kind of spooky, you'd go mad in there after a while.

Quite a few coolers will work, Scythe Ninja, etc. It depends on your experience, skill, and manual dexterity.
