gigabyte P35-DS3R (rev. 2.0)!
does anyone have the revision 2.0 of the GA-P35-DS3R?
it drops the legacy ports for more usb 2.0s...
i'd like to get this board, and was wondering if anyone has the 2.0 one...or are they still selling the 1.x's?
*and a side note...anyone familiar with the jing ting forcetake? is it any good?

eheim 1048 fitting help
from the eheim's website ( http://www.eheim.com/universal.htm ) , the eheim 1048 has G1/4" pressure side, and G3/8" intake side.... i'm confuzzled on the G3/8" part since all the fittings i see are for G1/4" to 1/2" ID or whatever... So i get one G1/4" fitting (like this one: http://www.performance-...

no lian li's?! well, i have a lian li pc-60 (amazing) which matches everything you want for $99, except that 5 external bays...but not to worry, the lian li pc-A16 (link here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112132 ) matches what you need: a) its midtower b) it can fit a 880...

do you already have the 7800gt? or are you planning to buy that? since i wouldn't recommend getting that at this stage. if you already have that, scratch my thoughts you won't need a fan for the top rear exhaust, since a push-pull's gonna do a hell of a job already otherwise than that...good parts a...

i would suggest a better pump and fan - get yate loons, since they are a lot cheaper, and 7V on a nexus is sorta wimpy, albeit quiet. A 7v on a YL is pretty much a sweet spot for a pump...i was thinking about a eheim 1048 for my plans, but since your loop is more complex, you should get the mcp655 o...

Re: 8600GTS Silent - MSI, Asus or Gigabyte?
I have a 120mm fan mounted in the rear of the case, as well as the fan in the power supply. My CPU is a 3GHz Prescott Pentium 4. Can I expect this setup to provide sufficient cooling at high load on the 5750GTS? I assume you mean the 8600GTS...but as for cooling...yes and no to put it simply, you n...

well..intel boards like pretty much the generic ol' mobo with nothing special... some people use them for less expensive builds, but generally they look ugly, don't have lots of features, and heat up quickly when oc'd - due to plain old aluminum heatsinks i'm using one, but yes, i AM a student too, ...

I think all N650 boards can only do x8 SLI...since that was the major diff between 680i and 650i boards but i would stick to a P35 board if you are building a pc now well i know for SLI x8 was only slightly lower than x16 performance - little enough to be of major concern... but honestly, i'm not su...

onboard sound is good for the average user...or people who have 2.1 systems. if you have a 5.1 system, you'll want a sound card. what is your 2.1 system? your description sounds like a klipsch promedia ultra 2.0 (aka what i have :D ) people only go creative in my opinion for the EAX and gaming nicet...

Re: New Motherboard, P35 or 650i?
Hi all, 1) Can I use the lower slot on these SLI boards? Will the gfx card run at 16x? well, on the gigabyte DS3R, IP35-E, and IP35, you only have one x16 slot... on the ip35 pro, you run a second x16, but you won't be getting true x16 bandwidth..i think its only x4 for that board for the n650 chip...

I'm considering Gigabit boards as well. What's your opinion on the usefulness of dual PCIEx16 slots as an upgrade option? its only useful if you want SLI, simple as that...I personally wouldn't want SLI, since i only run on a 19".. :? but otherwise, unless you want to game on a monster 30" or somet...

just fyi, the ultra 120 > HR-01 for about the same price otherwise than that, you won't need any silencing foam/insulation - the p182 already has that built in the side panels (partly why its so heavy for a case) a single raptor vs a single 7200 hd won't be super great performance increase, but you ...

ok, so i'll most likely settle for the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R one, since i won't need two x16 slots and the revision 2.0 one has USB2.0 instead of all those legacy ports now...if i put a ultra 120 on that mobo, will i have room for a thermalright tower NB cooler? since that gold stock nb cooler looks ...

ultra 120 fit vertically in a lian li PC-60?
hey, can the thermalright ultra 120 fit mounted vertically in a lian li pc-60? or will it bump into the PSU above?
since i don't want to mount it horizontally, cause it would block some ram slots....and i'd like for the fan to push air out the back, not into the PSU
thanks for any info!

oh, for the rubber screw things, are they called "silicone fan pins"? since those are what i've seen...not actual screws..

Best P35 Motherboard?
just curious on a mid-high end P35 board... are there other good p35 boards out there too? i was considering a IP35 (non pro) version, but is the double boot time any troublesome? For the gigabyte boards, are the only differences between the DS3R and DS3P just the additional PCIx16 slots? Oh, and wi...

hey, does anyone know/confirm that the scythe ninja mini:
(http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/cpu/0 ... etail.html) can fit on the gigabyte P35-DS3P or DS3R series? Or will the northbridge cooler on the gigabytes' interefere with the ninja mini's fins?
Thanks for the help
