IMO, 2 front fan are unnecessary. The noctua on the back is enough, negative pressure would be nice.

IMO you are right, you need the align tool just in case something goes wrong with performance.

The EARS with 64MB cache is a 500GB/platter.

I founded a pipeline 500GB HD2 at a good price. But it is 8MB buffer model, and it's the only difference from the one reviewed. I will use it as a system drive in my rig, Caviar GP will become a backup drive mounted under the Seagate. Should i care about buffer? Should i care about performance? :roll:

It is not questioning the existence of the line. It discusses the fact that this model does not exist before.

A seagate Barracuda 5900.12 is a nice choice, too. It is 5900rpm (so slightly faster than 5400) and 500GB/platter, not too bad. But i don't have one, so i could be wrong

Solo with a 120mm fan at 800rpm will offer sufficient airflow for your system, i think it will work even in summer. Of course the nsk3480 will do the right job, too
