SpyderCat - I am not sure you can assume anything about pressure when you undervolt a fan. Panaflo are the only folk I have seen who show different curves at different voltages. Except those graphs are really small (imprecise) but it does seem to me that the shape of the curve is different at diffe...

Re: Nexus 400W PSU - initial reactions

15 minutes later my computer is as noisy as with Truepower. This is while my computer is idling on Windows XP, case temperature around 32-31C. Had the same problem when I ducted the CPU-exhaust-air into my Nexus 3000. Then I ducted the CPU-exhaust-air to the exhaust-fan. Problem solved. Mobo temp. ...

Pressure developed by 80 mm axial fans

I was interested in what pressure undervolted fans would develop. The graph shows some results from different manufacturers, and the purple points represent the 80 mm Panaflo fans. I think the plotted points are sufficiently close that we can accept this as a reliable graph. I'm especially intereste...

Q-fan works fine for me on a ASUS A7V333.
It can take up to 350 mA, and I have both my CPU-fan and the extraction-fan regulated by Q-fan.
Under full load (Folding@Home) both fans are probably running at 8 volts.
The 60 mm CPU-fan revs at 2636 rpm. Not silent yet, but close.

Trader,

Panaflo fans ARE available, see for your self.
http://forums.silentpcreview.com//viewtopic.php?t=3817
And they are cheaper than Papst fans.

At the moment I have a Papst 19 dBA fan, and will replace it with a Panaflo.
Don't repeat the same mistakes others have made.

Hi Edward, There is only one way I can explain your problems. The cool air you are blowing into your case, goes out the back almost immediatly. When I'm right, then a temp. reading in the direct environment of your exhaust fans should read clearly below your case temps. I really can't imagine that y...

Can't find the formula anymore...

Somewhere, and I think it was on this forum, I've seen a formula to calculate the summed noise of several sources.

Something like: 10 dBA + 12 dBA + 12 dBA = 18 dBA

Seriously, I searched for an hour...

Could somebody point me in the right direction please ?

With regards to the fried & died PSU: Only applicable when there is another extract fan present: I think that this might be caused by the other (more powerful) extraction fan(s) creating so much under-pressure in the case that the 5 volts PSU-fan couldn’t extract air from the case anymore.
