mb2- I meant that on the emachine, there is the OEM CoA for the that system. I was wondering If I could use my own Windows XP disc (the one I purchased for my computer) to install it on the emachine using the emachine's CoA (since I can't/shouldn't use my personal CoA). The CoA is not tied to the di...

dj.pihat - Welcome to SPCR! Great Timing on your part, I'm planning to the same thing with the similar components (intel 370 1.3 celeron with intergrated everything [intel 810], Laptop HD, hoping for a DVD slim drive, but those are expensive) and build a wood case Perhaps we can share some ideas ;) ...

I highly doubt it, but do you think you be able to pass by with a picopsu?

mostly depends on the GPU

I've done it to my seasonic 330 accidently a few times..for short periods Of course most everyone is going to recommend you NOT to this, but hey why should you listen to them? :D (but they are looking out for you and your components :) ) if you really want to do this, you definately beef up the heat...

One Fan System questions inside

So I acquired an emachine T1360 recently my thought was to use this as a secondary quiet pc, hopefully with one fan in a custom built wood case with a couple of nifty features (thinking of stealthing the CD rom in a very cool way) Basically I have a number of questions First off here are the specs o...

interesting, I had just bought a mCubed T-balancer for $40 ( 8) off someone) and now they're coming out with another version...hmmmm, it better not have PWM as the only fan output....

so, I've run this system for a week now The valve is working perfectly fine, only mishap was an awry cable that held a flap open As a test I left the the fancy stuff out and ran it as it was, noting that the Ati 9800 pro got very hot, opened the case, put the fancy stuff back in, turned the front fa...

you mean the one PCI slot above the the video card (not every case has this?)

as long as you have sufficient space (inch?) behind the fan, it shouldn't effect noise too much

In some cases, fans become quieter if there is some backpressure

you'd be using the stock fan, yes?

oh and you have PM(s) ;)

Ithe flaps are made out of folder card stock, using standard string taped on the very edge Since the sting has a twist to it, I've tried to add more twist in an attempt to have the flaps close automatically due to the twist If string doesn't work out, how about using cut elastic bands? You're already using this computer, right? Have you done some sort of modification on the PSU fan? If not, then you can tell pretty easily what sort of temperatures it can stand by just closing off the rear case exhaust. With the PSU as the only exhaust, it will receive all of the heat generated by...

I made the exact same argument when I first came across this concept here on the SPCR forums. No one is saying that gel packs are particularly good at transfering heat, just that they'...
