Re: PicoPSU systems shuts off unexpectedly

Memtest did not stress the ram nearly enought. Use Prime95 with the following settings for ram stress:

Re: Recommend a Silent Mouse and Keyboard?

But it is nice to not have any noise on the scrolly wheel being that there isn't one.
It is very easy to achieve that in Logitech MX500 and MX510 mices. Just remove the spring, that is causing the clicks while scrolling with the wheel :)
As for the clicks, well, quality microswitches do click :(

Re: Quiet & small & powerful HTPC/Steambox - Please advise

Less powerfull, yet completely noiseless (fanless) setup can be achieved by using the Akase Euler case: http://s18.postimg.org/xhvqu1s2h/Akasa_Euler_case.jpg http://www.extrahardware.com/article/akasa-euler-when-noise-free-pc-reality/strana/0/2 I would probably tweak it a lot, but that is just me. Re: Heatsink+fan for VGA 8600GT small card?

Great idea! There is just one small problem, tough. I don't mind getting a secondhand cooler, not this... But the cooler is actually putting the radiator fins on the backside of the card. Nothing wrong with it, but there is not enought space on my setup for that. Because the fan that need to be at t...

Re: Whining Components

These hi-pitched noise are usually from coils. I battled then on DFI LP B mobo so badly, that I poured silicone on the coils. But no help. After the mobo capacitor exploded and mobo stoped working I realized, that the Bad Caps (tm) plague is behind this noise. The bad caps lose their characteristic,...

Heatsink+fan for VGA 8600GT small card?

Using a Point of View 8600GT card: http://s2.postimg.org/8a96lcui1/Point_of_View_8600_GT.jpg Point of View 8600GT ...it have reasonably quiet fan, but of course far too noisy for my liking. So I looked out for something that will fit well the reasonably small card, preferably overlaping ith 92mm fan...

I get feed up with constantly losing files and stuff, so I did managed to back up the data, reformat, and no chkdsk error ever since. How to force CHKDSK fix index on NTFS drive?

At first I made the mistake using Partition Magic v8.00 to setup a drive (2G FAT32 for OS, 184G NTFS for data). PM v8.00 is faulty and screw up the drive, mainly the NTFS partition. Usually the results are not as dramatic as I experience (mostly only windows is slow in powering off), however on VIA ...
