I'm more interested in the claim that idle has drop from 7w to 3w. 7.5W to 3.8W, but yeah, much more interesting indeed. Considering they didn't change the core, they must've done some excellent work on leakage on their 65nm process. C2D is said to be 14.3W on idle, and K8 still has a memory contro...

About the same as any DTR laptop really, I'd hardly call it astonishing.

Yeah, it's already been available here for a few weeks too, nice value against the X2 3800+ EE if the 65W matters to you, if it doesn't, the X2 3800+ is definitly the better choice.

This product is for their customers who also bought the Fatal1ty products, it's not for the silence crowd. That's the problem. It's always the bling-buyers that get the good stuff, us silence crowd are left without the fancy cooling or the modular cabling or the whatnots. "Here's your 80+, bland, g...

I think they suprised most people with this announcement.
In any case, it's an official statement from the fabguys themselves, so I don't think there's much to be questioned about it.

First generation 65nm should be available by december.
I don't recall seeing usable projections on the second generation with the new transistordesign, so no idea on that I'm afraid.

There's just one thing remaining I'm wondering about: IDE cables. Anything particular to note about getting an IDE cable up into the upper compartment ? As a seperate hole for such cable seems to be lacking, I was wondering if any users with this case ran into specific problems, or have some pointer...
