A8V-E Deluxe , interesting uATX 939 board :) but what is that silver thing in the middle of the board with wires sticking out of it. :( Edit: Oops, took a quick look at the pix of the board and saw the three slots and thought it was a micro. A longer look showed that it is a PCI Express board

I've gone back and reread the AMB & BQE reviews and the threads about them but I wonder how the noise level of the HDDs compares. I know for the ultimate answer of suspending drives the AMB/3000-B are much easier to work with than the BQE. But how does the stock AMB/3000-B system compare to Ralf's "...

SometimesWarrior, Looked at that drive for $29.99 AR but then there was $10 Sales Tax on the $120 list price so it came to $40 overall and it was "one of those WD JB drives." Sorry I passed but figured they may have been clearing out stock for the new FDB drives to come. It would have made a good dr...

I have never used one but the "farmers" down in the Folding@Home forum had quite a lot about the Biostar M7NCG 400. It is an nForce2 mATX board with lots of adjustments. Just avoid the Version 7 one, it lacks the adjustments. Version 7.2 seeems to be the current one. See if you can find anything abo...

IIRC the Biostar M7NCG 400 has what you want but be careful as there was a version 7.0 several months ago that had the "good stuff" removed. There was so much noise about the change that a newer ver. 7.2 was released that returned all the adjustments. Search on this site and look at the "Customer Re...

Mats , (note that you can not change the AAM modes on Seagate 7200,7). From what I read both you and tjoff wrote that "you" (the end user) cannot change the AAM settings on the 7200.7 drive. This is true but all the drive makers can and must set these parameters in the drives at the design stage. T...

That's right and that is what tjoff said.

BUT Seagate can program the performance during manufacture and it really looks like the SATA and PATA drives are different.

Perhaps thinking about the Biostar M7NCG 400 nForce2 for AMD CPUs.

There was quite a bit about overclocking it in the folding forum and then talk about using it for the XP Mobil chips. The new Version 7.2 has all the adjustments back that were omitted from the Version 7.0.

found this thread that you started back in Januarary. Back then you were vacillating between the 2.8C and a 3.0. Now here it is four months later and you're going back and forth between the 3.0 and 3.2. If you stay on the fence until June, you can agonize between the 3.2 and the 3.4. :D I know what...

P4 3.0C or 3.2C ?

I was planning on using a P4 3.0C in a new system and then noticed that the 3.2C was only $60 more :) I would like the slight increase in power but... I know there is a jump in power consumption and heat from the 2.8 to the 3.0 but is there much of a change from the 3.0 to the 3.2? It seems folks ha...

There is an AcoustiPack precut kit for the AcoustiCase C6607 that is a better fit. See Ralf's review here.

There is supposed to be a kit designed for the 3700 AMB & BQE that should be out shortly.
