How many watts is your 4770 consuming at idle/load?

Joseph, what was gpu/ram clocks in that test? I never had the tweak my 4670 bios to get lower voltages. I just created new CCC-profile with the tweaked values and applied the profile once, and the values are now automatically set without the profile. If somebody could get the idle comsumption to 15...

There's no possibility to lower the RAM voltage?
The screen goes blank for a split second but everything is fine afterwards. I'm not sure about the voltage though.

Probably due to the memory clock not downclocking when in 2D...will ATITool let you set up a lower memclock configuration? In Catalyst Control Center, the memory clock is at a constant 800MHz, while the "GPU Clock" is automatically reducing to 250MHz. I tried moving the Memory Clock slider as low a...

This is my new HIS 4770 with Accelero S1 attached. I cut off the end of the fins using a sophisticated process: scissors followed by a more precise trim using fingernail clippers.

I wonder how idle power consumption is going to be. I skipped the 4000 series due to their lack of effective PowerPlay support. Hopefully ATI will get it right this time.

7 years, wow! I sure hope we'll see quiet small systems in the future. Today, a small system usually means really small and loud fans. I even had to modify a small hard drive enclosure I recently purchased due to excessive noise from it's 40mm fan and lack of intake vents. Sadly, I think we'll conti...

First thing that comes to mind is partition alignment. This makes a HUGE difference. Check the OCZ forums for information on aligning the partition. This would require a reinstall of Windows XP afterward. Avoid using ghosting software afterwards unless you can be sure the restored partitions retain ...

Definitely depends on the monitor, the computer's video output and the cable between the two. I've set up machines where I could not tell the difference and I'm very picky about video quality. I've also seen a lot of bad and horrible examples too. DVI/HDMI makes it easy. You don't have to worry abou...

Of course, if you did something stupid (like a Full Format instead of a Quick Format, that actually writes to every sector of the partition) you would be relying entirely on the hard spares, even if you don't fill the partition up. How damaging is this? I couldn't find any documents about this. Whi...
