Re: FT02 and passive cooling
Excellent review, I'm on the market to replace my old Sonata II (plastic front door broke a few months back) and this case might just do the trick. I was using a Reserator 2 to cool my CPU and GPU, but my pump is toast and I'm tired of plugging/unplugging it when I need to move my case around, so I...

Suggestions Get Smart Drive Enclosures - "quiets hard drive noise by at least 4 decibels (difference is greater with a noisier hard drive)" or Replace your desktop drives with a) one quiet green (slower spinnng) desktop drive; or b) notebook drives; or c) SSD for the OS and notebook drive(s) for the...

"Thing is the case still isn't silent . It's quiet but not as quiet as I would like, and as I tend to have it running overnight in my bedroom I want it quieter. It still seems to be the drives that are making the most noise though, even suspended." Why run overnight in your bedroom? if you're downl...

Nice and tidy no moving parts system. Is that a 2.5 -> 3.5 adapter I see used to mount the SSD. Are you happy with the X-650, no whine/squeal noise? I chose an ST40NF psu because I like supporting passive component manufacturers. Often the PSU can make or break a truely silent build. I'm not familar...

I'd also like to see the Ninja2 reviewed on Skt 1366 and Skt 1156, WITH bolt-through mounting. I think you'd be disappointed. The newer Ninjas have two deficiencies relative to the original Ninja: the push-pin mount, which as you note can be replaced, and the base plate/heat pipe interface, which w...

in a case there is less "cool" air compared to an "open test" bed; so it would lead to different results; No doubt a case will impede natural convection cooling to a degree. But the fanless results are still relevant in my opinion. A case such as Silverstone's FT02 (which has "stack effect cooling"...

you should also include results with no fan, testing outside a case... makes passive cooling tests worthless, since inside a case with a single exhaust fan, you'll have more airflow and completely different end result. Wouldn't a Cooler's fanless performance be relevant in a fanless or semi-fanless...
