i allways change my psu fans, i found it best to just use the 3-pin on the motherboard, and run the fan at a constant speed. most fans would be ok at 7-800 rpm. so if u aint got a good fan at home i would go for a noctua, using th U.L.N.A would give u 900rpm, if u still can hear, link the two low no...

djkest: it would be really nice to see some undervolting results. lovest stable voltage, and power consumption during dual prime95, orthos or... the more i read, the more i see how crazy this cpu actually is. passivly cooled at 3,6ghz its just insane. im using a TRUE and a noctua @ 600 rpm, meaning ...

wich cpu are u using? its very easy to undervolt the gigabyte card. install easytune and prime95 then u can lower voltage while running the stability test. i used 10 min to roughly find lowest vcore. got a quad running at 0,96V. when u find stable voltage u just go innto bios and sett the same value

yepp, i know.... kind of sucks, i had some good things planned there. :D the whole confusion started when it was posted in the news as an 775 cpu, and its actually listed in stores as an 775 cpu so im not the only norwegian that got fooled... http://www.amentio.no/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:1758936;c:36124...

my board udervolts a little during load so i read from cpu-z 1,15 in bios gives 1,09V. i wold have tested lower if my mobo had the option for it. and and every one i know i stick with an asus board. i know im guessing a little here but my x3210 is a server cpu and it under volts. and both are socket...

i really do not know, but seeing how far my x3210 goes on 1,09 makes me wonder how low i can take it. and these new ones beeing 45nm chips wich shold be cooler an operate at a lower voltage. did some tests on my x3210 , plotted a graph mhz vs voltage. that turned out to be more or less linear so i c...

Xeon E5405 the ultimate undervolting cpu?
read some news about the new Xeon E5405 - 2,0 GHz, 12 MB L2 cach cpu with the 45nm penryn core. been trying to figure the minimum stable voltage. and i ended up at 0,7-0,8V. thinking it would easily bee cooled passive with a ninja mini. wold be really fun to try this one on a good gigabyte mobo whit...

this passive solution dont look to fancy, the yellow stuff is covering half the heatsink. the good thing about passive sinks is that their kind of overkill, so just adding a fan blowing at the card works miracels for the temps. as an exaple, got a crappy passive card in an office pc, yesterday i not...

if u dont OC the XP90 with a nexus wold be perfect. but if u want to go past 3,0 ghz schyte, noctua or thermalight wold be better for quite preformance. anyhow, by undervolting and no OC a quad gets guite cool. i got an X3210 that was cooled passivly with a ninja when undervolting to 1,05V. quad prime

The new travelstars with 16 mb of cache are probably the fastest 2.5 inch drives out there right now. I have one in my wife's pc, very quiet. The sata 3.0 ones are not out yet, the current ones are 1.5 speeds. There is a link to the review right on the front page of storagereview.com http://www.hit...

I haven't compared it with desktop drives, but the seeks in my new laptop 7200 RPM are definitely audible. The thing is, it doesn't matter what the diameter of the drive is when it comes to seeks -- fast seeks will always be noisier than slow seeks. I think you'll get better performance and less no...

need a silent 7200 2,5" disk for my HTPC
are the 7200rpm notebook disks any silent? got a gaming htpc thats fairly silent, so now both seek and idle noice is anoying. and since i do some gaming i dont want to loose to much preformance whem moving for 3.5" to 2,5" been over at storagereview but the measure the sound from a 3mm distance. tha...
