How do I mod the fan in the Sonata PSU? Is it a simply case of unpluggin the old one and putting a new one in or do I have to start cutting wires (which I don't really want to do)? Well, not completely sure, but it looks like it uses a similar connector to the Seasonic. If so, you should be able to...

Some of those HDD magnets, especially the older ones, are freakishly strong. You could use one to attach your cat to the fridge :)

Just a word of caution. WHen you pull the Antec PSU from the Sonata, the 120mm fan will suddenly become pretty damn loud. Since it won't be getting the reduced voltage from the Antec PSU, you will have to go to other measures to low-volt that 120.

I would turn the fan off and hang a 5 or 7v Panaflo L1a over it, using a slightly modified piece of PCI slot cover, a la MikeC in his article here :

miker: sounds like a good setup, do you have any pics? I suppose the suck or blow thing depends, i would probably have air from the back of the case blowing into the case through the radiator as it will be cooler air. I dont think i would be able to set up my watercooled rig like that because the r...

Pre-Cut Acoustipack kit for the Sonata is released.

Looks like AcoustiProducts finally finished the pre-cut kit for the Antec Sonata. However, it looks like only our UK & Swedish members can take advantage for now. :?

You can check it out here.

From all the tips they list, it may be a pretty tricky install

I just replaced the Antec PSU. Never bothered spinning it up.
It does sound though that if it were that loud, I would say you have a defective unit. BTW, grommeted HDD racks rule.

I am currently watercooling my Sonata (very similar internals to the BQE) and I have the radiator mounted to the rear fan exhaust, and the fan on top of that, blowing out (through the rad). It works OK now, but do you think it would work better if I turned the fan around and sucked air in through th...

Fanless is probably fine unless your PC case has no airflow, then it won't be OK.

Re: Is the SLK3700BQE for me? Please help...

Oh, and speaking of the front panel...another thing that I'm wondering is whether these cases come with an option to have that front door on the drives open in the other direction. i.e. I'd much prefer it if it opened to the right rather than to the left because of where I have my computer. It sits...

Not for quite some time. They results they got from the first few rounds have raised more questions, and they are looking more closely at some older projects. That's why we are seeing the recent rush of tinkers cores.

I don't think this technique is intended for a LAN box, if that's what you mean. You could get creative and use some suction cups and clamps or something :)
