Isn't the fan in the Nexus thermally controlled? What are your case/cpu temps like? What about your number of intake and exhaust fans? Is it possible that your case is running hot and pushing the hot air into the PSU, thus making the fan run faster, thus creating more noise from air flow? Just my $....

In this thread in the Fans & Control forum Do these noise-reduction washers help? link provided. Referring to this PSU grommet from Directron.com Will the Directron washer screw up case grounding thru the PSU? Can anyone weigh in on the need to have the PSU grounded if you decouple it from the case?...
