Check out the 90nm semprons. They are very cheap, pretty fast especially for what you want to do, and they are great undervolters. they run stock at 1.4V and hardly put out any heat at all. I didn't even need to undervolt mine like i had planned. i'm sure you could get the Thermals down to 20W easy ...

i have a similar setup you are planning with a silverstone lc-03 case. it has the exact same layout as the silverstone you are looking at. Here are my specs: silverstone lc-03 msi k8n neo (sideways cpu bracket allows ducting through the 60mm fan holes) sempron 2600+ socket 754 geforce 5200 fanless h...

It is the exact same layout and look as the silverstone LC-03. Two 60mm rear fans and one 80mm intake. Overall, i think it looks a little over the top in silver but black might look pretty good. I have the LC-03 and it works quite well after I modded it a bit by taking out the top support in between...

Wow. I can't belive that this myth about speaker cables has persisted for so long that some poor sap smart enough to know that SPCR is a good site would spend 1000 on a power cable and think it can actually help him. The Turion 35w chip runs at 1.35V and 1.6 Ghz. I just got a Sempron 2600+ at 1.6 Ghz and 1.4V. It has no SSE3, CoolnQuiet, and AMD64 but this thing runs really cool at stock speed and voltage for only 80 bucks. I was going to undervolt it using CrystalCPUID (my MSI board does not support underclocki...

I have an MSI K8N Neo for socket 754 that does not allow undervolting in the bios. I know I can lower the voltage for an athlon64 with cool n quiet and CrystalCPUID, but can i undervolt using CrystalCPUID using a new sempron 2600+ that does not support Cool n Quiet? I heard the new semprons can run ...

my laptop bounces around all the time to no ill effect. Maybe desktop drives are different but it would be kinda dumb to have a portable computer stuck to a desk while it is on. The higher spin rate and rotational inertia of a desktop drive could cause more damage to the bearings than a laptop drive...

I am a thermo engineer. Two radiators in parallel work better than two in series because heat transfer works better with a higher temperature difference. Both radiators get water at the same high temperature so they can cool more effectively despite half the flowrate. With two radiators in series th...

Are multi hard drives suspended together worse than single?

I want to try to suspend my seagate 7200.7 cause the seeks are driving me crazy but i want to be able to run multiple drives in the future if i have to. I was thinging about sandwitching two drives between two pieces of aluminum to form a box structure. I figure i could mount 1 or two more drives in...

I tried everything i could think of to try to silent my extra drives and for the most part they stayed off. make your pump ride on air for free

So i just got my first watercooled setup and the swiftech 350 pump was vibrating my entire case making a racket. I had it mounted with a bit of double sided tape (the stuff with the foam between the sticky) but even several layers of this rather stiff foam was not helping. Because i am too lazy to r...

12cm radiator or reserator

I have been looking into the reserator for some time now but i am not sure if it will be the best solution for me. I plan on buying a 3500+ and overclocking it mildly. I also plan on cooling a 9800 pro or future high end graphics. My original plan was to use a single 12cm radiator and a nexus 120 on...

Stupid answer to a stupid question:
Turn your case upside down and flip your CD-Rom over.
