Yeah...The type of paste that is used isn't really that much of an importance, it's more of how much and in what fashion it's applied that seems to make the biggest difference in temperature. I remember this one thermal paste roundup by mad shrimps (I think, correct me if I'm wrong) and the toothpas...

The Mini Ninja is going for $19.99 with rebate at Newegg, so it shouldn't put much of a dent in your wallet. But then again the Ninja is only 5 bucks more there. =_=...And you can just snip the bottom fins off if they get in the way of auxiliary heat sinks. It shouldn't hurt performance too much. An...

TT Tsunami case Oh lord, that case was probably as close to the computing devil as I want to get. Just thinking about how flimsy it was still gives me shivers. And the case wasn't mine. It was my cousin's. He sent his computer to me to see if I could figure out why it wasn't booting up. Apparently ...

Nice, but would be better if you cover the metal grills with wood ones, as the sides look ugly Well that is a matter of personal opinion. I kind of like the exposed metal grills. To me they give contrast and make it look a little more interesting than "just" a wooden case. I'm not as minimalistic a...

Also, ECS has their own ATX form factor motherboard with a 780G northbridge. And its going for $70 not including the 10$ rebate. ECS A780GM-A AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard It Looks very promising, and the layout of components looks much better than many other motherboards out there. Now...

Interesting, I though the stock cooler on the graphics card would make the most noise.yamahaSHO wrote: I put in some Noctua fans and found that they now were the loudest part in my system.
Very clean build by the way. Me like!

Cry me a river....Tom's even worse than I thought.
A concrete reason why Tom's Hardware is NOT the place to go for....shall I say, a good read.

cooper absorbs the heat better than aluminum but it doesn't dissipate the heat as well as aluminum. I personally would have to disagree with this. Logically, wouldn't a metal with higher thermal conductivity also dissipate more heat than a metal with a lower thermal conductivity? I believe that cop...

Leaf blowers? .....hmm...interesting ...idk about static production of the leaf blowers though. I would just opt to go for as much passive as possible. But that's just me, I'm uber lazy. When I clean out the dust in my system I just use my dyson. I haven't had any mishaps with static buildup...

Personally, I think the thermaltake armor case resonates like Carnegie Hall. The chamber resonance seems to really penetrate through the plastic door panel. But that's just from my experience with my cousin's computer (his case is a Tt armor). It could be possible to quiet the case down a bit with a ...

Yes, the p3 runs very cool. But I prefer the cpu stay under 60c. The vf900 passive is fine when the cpu is at around 0-40% but since the cpu is a little underpowered (comparetivly to modern..er....cpus) so on average, for me at least, the cpu will be running at full load most of the time. And after ...

Are you sure you need fan? Errm....The procesor doesn't have a thermal sensor but judging by the heat of the heatsink with the fan off after around 10 minutes at 100% load, yes, without a doubt a fan is necesary for the vf900 (logicaly, since the vf900 is a relativly poor performing passive heatsin...

VGA Heatsink on Slot 1 Pentium 3's
Well I was a wee bit bored last night and I had an old slot 1 pentium 3 card sitting on my desk and zalman vf900cu-LED sitting next to it. I wanted to make a deecently low power system for just browsing the internet and stuff. Then I got the idea that mabye, just mabye the zalman might fit on the pr...
