Re: Coolest AMD CPU
I'm sorry if this question has been asked, but I couldn't find it. I am wonder which CPU is the coolest. From what I know, it should be the Thoroughbred B core 1700+ DLT3C processor. Is this correct or not? If someone has this chip, please tell me what type of temperatures you are getting and what ...

Demian, I feel for you. Feels like shit don't it?! :x I have never chipped one, but I have burned 2 in the past year -- an AMD T-bird and an XP. I cursed AMD to high heaven each time & can't believe that they can't make HS attachment just a bit more friendly. When I think of all the many dozens of ...

athlon powers what you want are mufflers mufflers forces the air to go zig zag lines which lets the air flow (air -> flows hehehe) but traps the sound in the sound absorbing material. check out this page: http://www.muffledcomputing.com/ there are other threads about muffling here you might want to...

AP, Maybe it's an age thing :!: My high frequency hearing may finally be going. In this case it may not be an altogether bad thing. I will have to find some older music that has some high freq. and listen to it again, perhaps something will now be missing :( could also be ambient noise- I'm sure th...

ive just read the whole datasheet, its probably the best solution yet, but note this: "This product is designed with maximum CPU load for P4 up to 2.8GHz as e-mailing, internet browsing, using word processor, spreadsheet software or equivalent at ambient temperature up to 25°C. We assume no liabili...

So-Tricks's where I got my M1As from. He's a good guy to deal with. I got L1As there and Im gonna buy two more M1As to 5v for case vents. Unfortunately, it looks like they are out of them. I sent an email a few weeks ago asking if they were getting more in, and I received a cryptic "Just how many a...

The ZM-80A is overkill for that, especialy if you have an 80mm fan blowing over it. Dont spend that much. However if you want to be somewhat future proof spend the extra $15. Be warned that these are heavy and Zalman is going to be releasing a newer, light model with better clips. I dont know a rele...

Yeah don't put that over your fan holes. You would create an instant easy-bake oven. Darn, I thought that would be an easy way to block noise. I have that case below that has the really big grills in the front. :( http://www.newegg.com/app/Showimage.asp?image=11-125-527-01.JPG/11-125-527-02.JPG/11-...

I love my fortissimo III - I bought it to replace my Live! and it sounds much better. I still use my old labtec 2.1 speakers, so I can't speak for the buzzing sound, but I have no problems with it. Same here, very crisp responsive sound. It support almost every 3D audio format in existense except E...

Does Melamine allow airflow?
I cant find out if it does on the website, if it does it would be a great sound insulation for the vents on my case.
Thanks in advance!

I think the whole AMD-core-cracking thing is more smoke than fire. (probably started by Intel moles ) Same here, I've given my Palomino absolute hell and it still works. 1. Dropped a lightweight HS on it... 2. Almost cracked motherboard installing AX-7... 3. Accidentally spilled bottle of 90% ...

I think there must be a unit to unit variation on the DM+8 drives as I also have one that does not make any objectionable noise. FedEx delivered my Fortron 120mm PSU this afternooon and I replaced the old PSU. The CompUSA thermal control 80mm fan that I was using to drop the drive temp from 38 - 42...

Hey! Could some one with the Gromacs core host it on a FTP server for download? Maybe for competitive advantage we could have it password protected only to SilentPCReview F@H team members. And dammit, I hope they don't give P4's too much of an advantage - we can't have none of that. Yes, l...
