i do fold but different team. team 596 pimprig. that cop has been foling since i put in that 9600gso and my rig in the sig does to. Just on one the the 295 cores though.

cooling/silencing xfx 9600 gso

the card in the title is very loud and runs pretty hot. i want to make it silent and run cooler. I looked at the S1 but i think some caps and other things are in the way.(in the red zone. everything in there at least 10mm high). sry for such a late reply. i didn't have to do anything special to the cooler to make it fit. it's the HR-03 for a 2900 xt it said it only fit that model but it worked fine on mine. The card idles around 30c and max is 42c.

my i7 940 idles around 28c on a cold day and idles around 35c on a hot day. loads is about 50c. Right now i have 2 9600gso cause i'm sending back my 280gtx to get a 295. but they idle around 43c and load 61c. and the system is at 36c when i would run F@H the system temp would normally be the hottest...

i have the powercolor 3850 and the stock black cooler was pretty loud. i put on a HR-03 with a 92mm thermal controlled and was very silent.

The reason that i was going for only 2 gb of ram was since im going to be using windows XP 32bit i wont be able to use all that ram. i think XP only sees about 3.5gb 3 would be for the OS and the 512 would be the video card. I might get it depends if i can sell off my old LAN system. And for the PSU...
