The Rocket Drives were supposed to come out with a version that had an internal battery and that were bootable, but, I have not checked back to see if they indeed did start offering them yet. They currently use an external power supply to maintain the information on the RAM. The next solution would ...

I'm running the Cambridge Audio, Digital SPDIF 2.1 system or, line out to my reciever with Dolby surround, Cerwin Vega AT 12's up front and AT 7's for the rears. My home audio is a bit dated, but, for the room it's in, it's more than sufficient. I don't have the space required for a 5.1-7.1 at my co...

Global WIN YCC-61F1-B impressions
Well, I've had my system up for about a week and so far, I've been quite happy with it. It's about as quiet as I was hoping for, fast and looks good. The front bezel is slightly rounded out, where the center of the drive bay panels are bout 1/2" further out than the sides. I used this to my advantag...

The Audigy 2 will do 24/96, though, it may take some acrobatics. The Audigy 1, will not, though, even though it stated it did. Basically, the Audigy 2 is the apology for the Audigy 1. I have the Audigy 2 Platinum and I am quite happy. Here's some info for obtaining full 24/96 recordings with the Aud...

Well, it works, it's quiet, fast, looks cool and so far lives up to my expectations. I will run Memory and video benchmarks on it to make sure it's running at full speed and at my expected performance levels. The only problem I have had, is I'm getting some EMI that is creating half inch high horizo...

The specs on the ATI AIW 9700 list a 300W as a bare minimum. I'm running the Live Drive front bay for the Audigy 2 and all of the additional USB and Firewire ports up front, so I wanted to make sure I had more than enough power. I rather have overkill not working at full (and heating up) then just b...

I based a lot of my decisions on what I've read on this site. My new system consists of: GlobalWIN YCC-61F1-B (for 120mm fans, front and back), Antec TruePower 550 Watt power supply, Asus P4G8X Deluxe mainboard, P4 2.66GHz 533MHz bus processor, SLK900U with a 92mm Panaflo L1A (Artic Silver 2), 2x Pa...

Zalman ZM80A-HP & ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro?
Has anyone tried this comination?
My concern is the tv tuner module. It may, or may not interfere. It doesn't look like it sits higher than the capacitors, but, I just wanted to make sure before I dropped the money on this combination.
Thanks,
CRT_Leech

If I decide to go with the Zalman, I may either use the bracket, but, mounted in a different location, or make my own bracket, to mount an additional 120mm fan. I was thinking about making a bracket/standoff, that would mount the fan to the mainboard tray, aimed at the Zalman heatsink. It would have...

Well, the Zalman 6500Cu is one of the best C/W ratings for a P4 heatsink and some of the testing shows that even in "silent mode", that it cools sufficiently and that is with most cases running 80mm fans. Here's some pics of the fan location: http://www.burnoutpc.com/images/reviews/globalcase/Exaust...

Fanless Zalman 6500Cu-B?
Ok, since nobody has really replied in the "Article Discussion\Heavyweight P4 Heatsinks Roundup Review", I'll inquire here, also. I have a GlobalWIN YCC-61F1-B case, that has a front and rear 120mm fan mount and I would like to run the Zalman 6500Cu-B on, probably, a P4 2.8GHz processor. I will not ...

Yea, the vaccum idea would probably be too complex and bulky to be worth while. What I would like to have is a small enough electronic noise cancellation device, that would fit inside the pc, be omni-directional, so it could cancel out all of the fan noise. An electronic noise cancellation device is...

Actually, this has been in the digital camera forums since the Microdrive was released, since it stated in the FAQ's/data from IBM that it had a 10,000 foot altitude ceiling. Some have exceeded this with success though, so I'm sure it's more of an air pressure issue, since the heads "float" on a cus...

I bought the GlobalWIN YCC-61F1-B, though, I like it's steel, almost clone, the Antec SLK3700AMB. I went with the GlobalWIN because I like the front door, spacious interior, black aluminum and the mirror polished stainless steel removable mainboard tray. Here's some reviewage: http://www.burnoutpc.c...
