Have a meander to "my" thread: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=46053 I'm looking for a White elephant of my own as well, and you might find some great suggestions in there :). Also - according to: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=45845 It seems that the Ninja...

It's less about the "hard" - it's more about the "doing it". I'm pretty busy with work, and wouldn't mind having less hassle, as it were the ideal concept of "order components - it all comes assembled and good to go" so to speak. It's not that I can't do it / that it's hard, it's just that it all ea...

*ponders* The thing that worries me a tiny bit about the Ninja is the sheer weight of it ... esp. since (due to space) my system will need to stand as a tower. Other than that - endpcnoise DO actually ship abroad - I've been looking at their offerings a bit. With the current ratio between £ and $ (...

Searching for the white elephant?

Greetings folks - I'm back after a rather long stint of absence of ... gosh ... three years it must be now (though ... it feels far, far longer). I've been faced with upgrading my PC for ... well - a year now (time flies when you get damn busy at work) and since the fan on my graphics card now start...

One thing which hasn't been adressed yet, with seeing those ... HUGE HULKING TOWERS OF POINTLESSNESS (ahem - sorry - that went through with me) is ... ... HOW, pray tell, are we EVER supposed to close the case? You can't use this in a tower, due to torque. Try using it in a desktop ... I see the nee...

Hello all. Been a while since I've posted here. Have been pretty happy with my kit. Was still browsing the odd article from SPCR, to see how things are going. I have to say, i hadn't thought I'd come across a case that had me nigh on drooling on the spot. Personally, I *LOVE* the room for expansion ...

Now that my lab's in better working order (had my 2 main folders die on my for a few months due to HDD failures), I should be helping the team again a fair tad more:).

I installed mine months ago (when they just came out in the UK), and can't remember what I thought of the base. Didn't lap it though.

EIther way - I'm happy with my temps, and that's what matters to me :).

Out of curiousity - I've got another spare connector on my Zalman FanController ... ... is it possible to hook up the fan on the silencer to my FanController? Since that uses constant voltage controll as opposed to !"££)(!"£* PWM, this should be way better. So - the question begs ... "can it be d...

I agree with the downward trend.

I've been around 4-5K PPW, but now am scraping just below 4K PPW ... and this, despite having "borged" another ... *does maths* ... 12 GHz worth of P4's to the cause (for a little while anyway).

Very odd.

Concerning the fans, that's a matter of perception (or hearing, as it were).

Personally, I didn't need to mod my Enermax, but then I've not yet attached an X800XT to it, so there might be some more noise coming from it yet.

But it's a good little box and behaves plenty well and is VERY quiet :).

Get an MSI one (or so) - it's only £ 30 odd, and that's fully passive :).

"My fan clicks." "Is the card properly seated?" ============= Why does this remind me of scripted questions. "I can't power up my motherrboarrd." "What's your version of DirectX ?" *holds head* You might want to point out the problem more clearly. :D. So that not even a pillock can misunderstand :)....

The V1.3 / V2.0 is quite likely the ATX PSU spec they're referrring to (2.0 being the one with ... PCI Express... :)).

I suppose that's one way to do it :).

My personal thoughts:

- too big
- too heavy
- too loud

:).

Also, you're a bit fluffed (as far as airflow is concerned) if your CPU socket's orientation is "wrong" for you ... blowing the air from bottom to top (or vice versa) rarther from intake to outtake is ... rather silly :).

What I don't get is the advertising of a fanless solution ... that rerquires a fan (albeit ehaust). D'uh ... :)

Other than that, is this a case of even a blind chicken finds a grain / a bad manufacturer make a good product once in a blue moon?
