FS: XFX 5770 v2 + Lifetime Warranty

I've got an XFX V2 card with the egg cooler that I've had for about 3 months. The card has the original cooler installed. It's been registered, so the buyer will receive a lifetime warranty. I've had the card OC'd to 950/1300 since day 2 of owning it, and it's never given me an issue. I imagine with...

Lostcircuits found the load power consumption of the 1090(i think) to be 82W. Pretty impressive.

Tigerdirect has a $50 MIR on these, and if you use their financing you get an additional $20 off on orders over $100. Plus! if you use bing, you can get bing cashback, which saves something close to $90 total...pretty fricken cheap.

It should be enough, but the question is whether or not you need it. Do you have a small case you'd like to use and can't fit a standard PSU? The benefits of the Pico are small and efficient, but if you can fit a larger similarly efficient PSU for the same price, you'll most likely have more flexibi...

So, I removed the backplate, which also removes the socket retention thing, but the pressure of the HS keeps the CPU in place. Without the bracket, I see zero board flex. As for contact resistance, I believe it to be low. I was playing a game, so I wasn't monitoring temperatures, but my case is open...

Weight isn't the issue, it's the thickness of the DFI backplate. Plus, the boards sitting flat, i'm not using it in a tower style case.

There should be, because the Noctua mounting bracket is supposed to fit flush over the stock backplate as far as I can tell. I'll experiment. I would consider just hand tightening the screws, but even then, the board flex is higher than I'm comfortable with. I'll experiment when I get home and give ...

Take a look at the Thermalright mounting kits. Or get the ThermalRight Venomous X that have a fully adjustable mount. It is so good they are thinking about selling it as a stand alone. It givesw you complete control over the pressure. By the way, someone, somewhere else in these forums just complai...

Noctua responded to my emails, I even sent in some pictures. Apparently, on the MI P55-T36, the backplate DFI uses is thicker than the Intel spec, so that's why I get so much flex. They're updating their compatibility with the board to incompatible now. Sweet. Noctua certainly does provide good sup...

I suggest setting a level of tension you feel comfortable and try to make all the mounting screws' depth about even -- you can do this just by eyeballing, but also with a spacer/guide of some kind. Then after the HSF is mounted, run Prime95 to ensure that the CPU is running cool enough. Noctua resp...

I've just purchased a Noctua U9B-SE2 cooler to fit on a DFI MI P55-T36. The SecureFirm2 mounting system flexes the board waaay too much for me to be comfortable finishing the install. Looks to me that the cause is that the motherboard is fairly thin, so I would say grit your teeth and get that CPU cooler mounted. You should be perfectly fine. I ran a much more power hungry system with a PicoPSU 120 well before I ever split the 12v lines from the power brick. As long as you don't go over ~120-130W DC for sustained periods, you should be fine.

The only issue with the Akasa is that it's larger than a dual slot cooler. So it's too tall for my needs. Also it uses proprietary fans.

Need a high end low profile GPU cooler

I've been looking around, and I can only seem to find two coolers, the Scythe Mushashi, and Thermalright T-Rad2 GTX. If I mount a 12mm scythe fan on the T-Rad2, I should be just barely over the size of a standard dual slot cooler. This is about the same size as a Musashi. So, which would you recomme...

I had similar issues with the DA/2 and a PW-200M, the larger version of the Pico. Wouldn't post, just tripped the brick into "off" mode, and the light on the brick would go from green to orange. It might be an issue with the brick/Pico compatibility. Something to do with voltage/current ramp up time.

You can't compare dbs from one benchmarker to another, bur you can compare them between different tests by the same benchmarker. The noise was already good at low in comparison to others (at least according to frostytech) even when handling a 140watt thermal load. This means you can let it run fast...
