Gainward Bliss 7800GS+ AGP "7900GT" - just got on

This card is basicly a 7900gt in AGP drag....yes it does have 24 pipelines and 512megs of memory but runs on AGP, and can be clocked up close to 7900GTX specs I have an Antec Sonata case, with a lot of quiet components, including the old Zalman heat-piped cooled Radeon 9800, which is pretty quiet wi...

Sonata Antec TRUE 380S power supply - which ATX12v spec?

I have the original Antec Sonata case - which ATX12v spec does it's 380watt power supply comply with? Also do you think it's enough to run at 6800GT/Ultra, 7800gtx spec video card? I have a P4 2.8c overcloked to 3.2g, 1 gig of ram, 3 Harddrives (Samsung 120gig and 2xSeagate Baracuda IV), scsci PCI c...

Well at least I have a blissful quiet system now :)

Antec sonata, original PSU with Panaflo Mspeed fan swap.
3.2 gighertz overclocked and quiet!

Just need to upgrade my videocard , and it will be fine. But since I have a Zalman heatpipe on my Radeon 9800, it maybe a while before I upgrade

Got the Evercool 120mm installed yesterday, replacing the stock Sonata Antec. The noise level seems just alittle quieter than the Antec, but it certainly moves more air. Now I am hearing the PSU fan over everything else. I guess this the way things work. Quiet down one thing and what you didn't hea...

For someone who wants quietness, would the stock Antec rear case fan be a better choice than the Evercool? I found the Evercool quieter and moves more air. the stock fan has faint chirps, moves less air, has a slight "drone" resonance --> possible not from the fan itself but caused by it, since I c...

My model number is AL12025 - at the back its says speed is "M"

My fan is hooked up to my Zalman fan controller. You need to do this or else, you'll have the fan running at 12V and you won't like that :)

Yeah basicly, but here is the thing, the fan is spinning so slowly relatively, than when I mounted it bare metal, I didn't hear any vibration. Plus the fan is heavy so that helps. I suspect the light plastic fans will be a different story
Even at full speed, I still didn't hear any vibration.

Yeah, they even had one screw which was one size too big!

But the 3 others worked ok, you don't need to go the full length of the fan, they just bite into the fan and hold it in.

But thinner longer screws to go the full length would work well too, but you would need a set of nuts/washers.

Stuffed into this oak case , my Evercool 120mm is doing most of cooling. It draws air from the top of the case, pulls it over the board and cpu, around the hard drives, down into the wood case, and blows it out through the PSU which has it's own fan removed. All this at about 1200 rpm, which is as ...

Well I am glad in hindsight I opted for the Evercool. The Panaflo 120mm is both more expensive and lacks RPM monitoring. Initally I bought it, because I thought I'd have it exhausting the air from the Sonata, and the Sonata 120mm fan sucking. But I don't really need two fans in my system. The Everco...

Well that's what I mean, if you want lower airflow, thus turbulence sound. It just sounds like pink noise anyway. quite soothing :)

I mostly leave mine at 950-1150 rpm

It was running at 3.5, not 3.8gigahertz ! :) 3.8 is right on the limit of air cooled stability and not something I would use day to day. Just elevate the Sonata off the floor so it can get air in the front bottom hole and it is fine.

I'm rather confused why other people have airflow issues with the Sonata. My System moves a ton of air through the case.

Run the 120mm at 5 volts first and see how you go.

I prefer my EVercool 120mm aluminium fan to my Stock sonata 120mm, fan. The stock fan has a drone even at 5 volts.

And the Evercool moves much more air, I run it at 4 volts and it still moves more air than the Sonata fan at 5 volts.
