You could also try a Blue Orb w/ holes for GPU mounting - cheap ($10 US) effective, quieter thatn stock, especially when undervolted. Or you could try Vermax (silentmaxx.com) for their GPU cooler. Copper plate, 60 Mm fan. Very very quiet. Expensive. ($50 US). woah, those verax's G01's look awesome ...

Okay... Now, at least, I know why materials harder than cardboard may be a good idea. Cardboard and the foam it's attached to will expand when heated, causing the whole thing to bulge and end up not being duct-shaped, which definitely degrades the whole thing to "open air". Now, I'm using a ...

Let's assume I go with the iStyle (anyone see a pattern forming here ). That case has the most hopelessly placed intake fan I ever saw.... but suppose I get out the old Dremel and drill a series of holes in the bottom front of the case (pointing to the floor) and stick an intake fan on there!? I'd ...

Samsung SP1614N in Europe (8 meg cache),Samsung responds
Emailed Samsung worldwide asking about the 8 meg cache version of the drive (UK site's feedback didn't work  ) copy and paste follows: Dear Customer, Thank you for your mail. I would use the FSP300-60PN in the hottest case, it has more airflow. They're both going in Antec SX830 cases, so airflow should be about the same. I would assume that the P4 machine will be hotter since it has more components and the processor gives off more heat than a P3. I seem to remember read...

I know that vibrations are reduced when decoupled, but I thought that whine was due to spindle speed and that decoupling has little or no effect on this?... That has been my experience too. Decoupling is great for diminishing seek noise. However, in a very quiet rig, decoupling doesn't help to get ...

cliche, Our silver compounds will not conduct DC current, so the memory on your video card will not be "fried". Our silver compounds are capacitive, so they will pass very high frequencies. The capacitance allows crosstalk on the memory chip signal leads and prevents proper operation. A good cleani...

Hey, even with quiet drives I hope you guys have it decoupled. I cannot believe this. I then unplugged the Hard Drive and voila. This freaking Western Digitial is louder...
