I have a fairly low-dust environment and am not averse to periodically blowing it out with compressed air... That said, I will be honest and admit that I'm not too savvy when it comes to filter materials--my suggestion is to do a quick search in the case forum for previous filter discussions, as the...

fallenturtle: the reference fans for SPCR for 120mm and 92mm are Nexus. Buy those, they're cheaper and definetly quieter (plus, unlike most fans, HAVE ACCUERATE SPECS). That doesn't really answer my question. I want to know if anyone has put SilenX's published specs to the test... except for the ne...

Right, if you are a modest overclocker, the Gigabyte is fine. For heavy overclockers, the Gigabyte is out of the question. It has to do with the Gigabyte not having as many overclocking options as the Abit or DFI. Then again (as I said before), heavy overclockers don't heavily base their mobo decis...

That's the only site I know that shows 7800GTX pulling more power than the 6800 Ultra; several other sites did actual power tests and found the 7800GTX coming in less power hungry (not just quoting nVIDIA, but actually testing it out). VF-700Cu--maybe, although there are several other solutions I'm ...

I was referring to the Abit having more overclocking options then the Gigabyte, nothing to do with the chipset cooling. Overclockers generally don't get Gigabyte boards, just because the ram voltage options aren't as good compared to an Abit or DFI. Well my point is that you could be into serious o...

I use an XP-120 on my AN8-SLI; the only real interference is that it's very difficult to install RAM after installing the XP-120. I recommend installing the RAM onto the board before installing the XP-120, and I highly recommend that all that be done before mounting the board into the case. It's not...

I would go with the Gigabyte, unless you are serious about overclocking to the limits of your hardware (which I doubt, or else you wouldn't care about passive cooling). Not... entirely true. The Silent OTES heatpipe cooler is extremely effective, and handles fully upvolted nForce4 without any issue...

I had dual radiators in my previous setup; one Black Ice Pro 120 and one Black Ice Xtreme 120, along with a Swiftech res, a Storm G4 and an NV-68 block. My Laing DDC had no trouble at all producing sufficient flow in that loop. The new system I planned to water cool will produce plenty of heat, but ...

I'm going to use two 512s for now and squeeze the most perf I can out of them until I start hitting games that are happier with over a gig; I'd rather get better perf in most of my games and sacrifice one than speed up one and lose perf in all the others. Oh I'm definitely not settling for stock vol...

Actually, if it fits, this looks quite good, particularly since you can use any fan of your choice that fits.

Who said anything about, "quietly?"   I don't think I can water cool this very well in the P180; it's not particularly easy to mod with its incredible thick steel and the spacing is not quite right to really properly fit or mount a 120mm radiator without modding. I highly doubt any p...

The NV Silencer 5 Rev. 2 seems quite a bit smoother than the original versions; I find the one I put on my 6800GT to be pretty decent housed inside my P180. Other sources of noise in the machine include all the stock case fans set for low and a 120mm Yate Loon blue LED fan on the CPU cooler undervol...

Okay, everyone; by the end of next week, I should be able to give you guys some Power Angel readings from a machine with dual 7800GTX in SLI with a San Diego, a Raptor, an SP1614N, a gig of RAM on an ABIT SLI board and an S12-600. I decided to skip on the TRD supercharger for my car, and dump some l...

Let me be the third staff member to chime in here and let you know that those two cases are absolutely, positively, incomparable in any way, shape or manner. Not only is the manufacturing quality on the P180 far superior, but the P180 is one of the most well-damped, if not the best damped mid/full t...

I don't rip to uncompressed, I rip to lossless compressed (a format known as FLAC; used to use Monkey's Audio before). I use foobar2000 to output via Kernel Streaming to an Echo Audio Mia MIDI sound adapter, which then sends the data via 75 ohm digital coax S/PDIF to a Benchmark DAC1, converting to...
