Re: Anyone run the Scythe Big Shuriken passively?
Let me elaborate lol, I am planning a build around the Wesena ITX2 case, which has 45mm of clearance between the motherboard and the ODD tray. If I remove the ODD tray, I can squeeze in another 25mm of space. The Big Shuriken, with its fan removed, is 46mm high. If I just used the case's side mount ...

Anyone run the Scythe Big Shuriken passively?
Wondering if it has enough mass to cool a 3220 Ivy Bridge. Will have airflow provided by a side mount 40mm fan.

Building a HTPC and an office workstation on a budget (I've tried out the HD4000 in my Streacom build and it's fairly impressive). HTPC won't be used for games at all, purely playing back hi res and other video files plus some web browsing. Possibly playback from dvd/blu-ray but I'll have a dedicate...

So where did you buy the case? Seems like North Am. distribution is extremely limited.

Streacom Passive HTPC Build
A teaser for now, haven't gone through all of my pictures yet. Case - Streacom FC5-OD Mobo - Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3 (got a pretty good deal on it, needed the features over power savings) Proc - i3 3225 (mainly because of the HD4000 graphics) Ram - 8GB Samsung Low Voltage Storage - Intel 330 Series 12...

Oops, forgot I started a topic here, got my AP working for a while now, so far so good, no shutdowns or anything, been on for "System Up Time: 18 Day, 18 hour:07 min:01 sec", so I think I'm good, haven't updated firmware yet, no need right now. Love the new range it provides though, personally, seem...

Beautiful build, big fan of this setup. I wish I could run without a discrete GPU as builds like this can stay so clean without them. Thanks, but a discrete GPU is coming soon. Planning on a 7770 or an equivalent workstation card, and replacing the stock sink with an Arctic Cooling S1 Plus. Will bu...

Cannot Use Cisco WAP4410N in Wireless Client/Repeater Mode?
Hi, I just purchase a Cisco WAP4410N so hopefully I am in the right place. I don't know much about networking (other than basic stuff) and I've spent hours trying to get the access point setup to no avail. 1) Apparently, my Cisco modem likes to assign new IP addresses to things, so I didn't figure o...

Can I ask what the "30# test cable" is? It looks really neat, I'd quite like to do the same for supporting my graphics card. The little hooks look just perfect :). Close to a grand sadly. It'll be cheaper now, as I couldn't find 8GB DDR3 sticks back last year (and paid a premium) whereas now it's getting much more common.

Ingenious if I may say so, 30# test cable (believe it or not, temps did go down as the weight of the cooler was pulling the sink away from the cores on top):

Just realized I should really plug up the rear hole before the adapter gets here. Air is coming in there and not through the actual heatsink, causing the bottom right corner of the sink to heat up more than the upper left.
