it matters a fair bit to me... i've got a quie(ish) fiel server with 9 HDs in it... you can't hear the HD whine as the PSU runs a little hot and fast... but the PSU fan noise is actualyl a lot less annoying than the HDs...so i'm always in two minds whether to fix the airflow issue to cool it down...

generally this is not possible unless the raid chip supports it...i doubt it'd be readable by any SMART utility anyway... no idea why, but i've never seen it in my experience of raid setups... i use a server raid card from areca that has its own temp monitoring, but that doesn't link automatically w...

it's clearly aimed at a market which (on thw whole) is still under the impression that more RPMs are better (not this forum obviously) but have a look round some other computer hardware forums and see how many 15000RPM Hds you see bragged about with 2000W PSUs no doubt... so i think they thought the...

i was looking at it for my raid 6 array...but at the moment waaay too poor to spring for 8 of these... looks like its the way to go... storagereviews db ratings are nonsense (way too close)...but their subjective analysis seems pretty good + you can compare to the other drives... they seem to think ...

Antec Fusion / NSK2400 / (v2) Heatsink and VGA Compatability
Hi i was just wondering if people could drop down compatible heatsinks / VGA cards
and incompatible ones too!
i was personally interested if the Thermalright 92mm tower fit or their brands of VGA coolers.
Also the MSI passive 2600XT?
anyone who has any thoughts on this i'd be most grateful....

maybe you should look at CD duplicator cases... will need some modding... if you find anythign better let us know...but i've been looking at doing something like that for ages... also if you're spending a fair amount on your raid card + 5* hotswap caddies you might want to look at an all-in one encl...

make sure you get a new 6600 at least...there's 10w TDP difference in the new stepping... i'm a bit unconvinced about the new intel chipset boards.. if you're going to stack it full of ram, i'd be tempted to go for a workstation class board HD...i'm leaning towards samsung these days... PSU Seasonic...

i think you're airflow woud probably decrease... but the noise would decrease more rapidly... as a newcomer to this, i think you'd find either of those fan options fine (there really isn't much between them) i'd also recommend the scythe series as well. I used the D series with a fan controller that...

cycleback...for some reason i never saw your comment... i am loving my SR107...i'm using an ATX m/b at the moment...but as i'm using SATA the cable elnght and routing is no issue... i think it could get messy with IDE because of where the 120mm fans are (behind the HDs - not at the front of the case...
