What if I flip the front fans so that I exhasut from the front AND the silencer, while all the air gets drawn through the hole by the CPU?

Once I noticed that barely any air was leaving, I sealed the front of the duct to the case. the only place it isn't airtight are the top and right side, but since the duct is pressed flat against the PSU, I don't imagine much air is creeping in there. One of my intakes is a Papst, so it doesn't move...

How much air is exiting that exhaust hole? It must be quite a lot.
Actually, it's barely perceptible

Well, I taped off the vents, and moved the Panaflo to the front, and the case temps came to higher than when I started. :( I tried unplugging the fan to the Silencer, and the temperature of the card kept rising as the system temps got even higher! (This might have worked if there was an airtight sea...

HTTP is a "sessionless" protocol. This means you can keep as many windows open as you like, and it won't affect the server unless you are loading or refreshing a page.

Thank you both, Isaac and Vertigo, for the time you've spent on this problem. Now let me see if I have this right: I remove the 80mm Panaflo from the rear of the case, and put it on the other front mount (cutting it out, of course). I'm not sure whether to seal the side vent, as Isaac suggested seal...

Well, I've been working on the noise/airflow thing for a while, so I had already made several improvements. Over the past 2 days though, I did everything I can think of with the hardware at hand. I made a duct out of cardboard for my power supply. This takes cooling capacity away from the CPU, but i...

If most Reserators become noisy after a number of months (which might be the case, judging by this forum), then perhaps their placement at the top of the "Recommended Heatsinks" list should be re-evaluated.

On a budget, need advice

First, let me disclose the noise-relevant parts of my setup: The CPU is a Palomino 2100+ (about as hot as a Barton) with a Zalman 6000AlCu on it. I start getting errors when my CPU reaches 65C, so I need to run the fan at a fairly noisy setting to prevent that. The power supply is a 350W Fortron, no...

Looks very similar to the p160 (function-wise). Unfortunately, I don't think it would make a good quiet pc due to the big hole in the front. Still, it would be interesting to hear from someone who has one.

You could probably fit 7 hard drives in a small case, you just won't have room for other things you may want (i.e. power supply, motherboard, CPU, etc).

I'm on the second case I've ever had in my life. Back in 1990, my parents got their first PC, a 286. 2 or 3 years later, my dad had a 486 put in it and gave it to me (I was 10/11). I took the case through a few upgrades from there, first with a Cyrix 6x86 166 (performance rated at 200, but didn't pe...

Anyone quick to judge that Antec didn't do their best with this is welcome to check with me. And who isn't impressed that an Antec Rep is checking this forum? Good on ya. Not to mention that they've already fixed the rust problem, BEFORE the case is widely available. But yeah, checking third-party ...

Gigabyte GA-7VA series

The Gigabyte GA-7VA(X,XP,etc.) can NOT be undervolted. It CAN be underclocked, but only by setting the FSB speed lower in hardware and "overclocking" from there.
