front case fan

hello everybody, I have a Gigabyte Poseidon case, i just changed the rear fan to a 1200 s-flex. my front fan is Gigayte made, i don't know it's speed. does anyone know? also, the hhd cage was behind it but i suspended the drives in the upper cage (where the CDRW go) so they don't get cooled by the f...

i see, so the list he posted was his new set up (that he wants to get).
it seems kinda old (sorry) - even if you don't want to run games.
anyway, i came out kinda lame...
what did you think for an HDD?
you can use 4gb of ram on vista 64 btw.

so you want to make it quieter. generaly there are a few options - 1. the cheapest - suspend your HDD, it's a bit tricky doing but you just need to get an elastic cable, and the sound difference is incredible! note that they will get a bit warmer because they aren't connect to the case (unless you p...

humming from Gigabyte 8600 Gts - silent pipe 3

Hi,
my Gigabyte 8600 Gts silent pipe 3 hums under load, if i decrease the clock speed it becomes quieter, but not completely.
and then it really degrades the performance.
it sounds like electric buzzing.
did someone encounter the same thing or similar to it?
thanks,
Dan.

i have the 8600 GTS silent pipe3.
it works at idle at around 50c.
it's an ok card, as a next gen' card it a bit disappoints, but i got it knowing it.
which company made a x1950 with passive cooling?
it is said it's faster the the nvidia.

i indeed was referring to you ("yes, it will be noisy"). - what is the problem? it seems surprising that in one hand your looking to quiet your computer and on the other hand you don;t mind it being noisy, all the discussion was kinda pointless. also, i use a fan mate 2 to devolt it between 600-1200...

that is true.
by solving, i didn't mean just to get different components, but to find a way to cool them with out making to much noise.
the case helps.
the 800 will be too low for his system.
as it seems he isn't looking for silence at all, so you can get the 1600 which will cool better.

as i see from your planned system - it will be noisy - 1 raptor + 2 HDD + 8800GTX fan, and hot for the same reasons. your planned case will be good to deal with both these problems (then any other cases) but will not solve them. the 1200 is versatile - it will work between 600rpm to 1200 and you can...

i believe that the fan that comes with the Scythe ninja is similar to the s-flex 1200RPM. at full speed you can hear it (although it's not loud) at 600rpm it's pretty much silent - if you don't put your ear to the case. also, i wanted to know how's the S-flex 1200 compared to the Scythe Minebea NMB ...

very nice! so it fits good and no vibrations? edit: i just ordered it with an extra s-flex 1200 rpm fan. if the 800 ticks i will install the 1200 and undervolt it somehow. it's a good solution to cool my hdd as well since i suspended them in front. i think i'll post pics when i install it. thanks fo...

regarding the clicking - you might be right as i seen that Scythe 800 rpm was found clicking (only the 800 rpm s-flex). how's the Scythe Minebea 1100 rpm fan? the ninja i think comes with a 1200 rpm scythe fan and it's quiet. although i devolt it with a fan mate to 600 rpm which makes it nearly sile...

1. You say the thermalright is cheaper. WRONG. where i live it's much more expensive and even doesn't include a fan. 2. The Ninja is great, it cools my cpu and other components (especially the GP) wonderfully! 3. the mount wasn't to fiddly (a bit) but my main concern is it strength - the ninja (+ fa...

i don't know, sorry.
fact is, that even if you just run vista, it requires 3d rendering (not pixel shading or stuff like that) - not to the extreme.
as you plan to buy a new card, don't by to old generation - 7600 is a very good all rounder.
(check tom's hardware - if you didn't already)
